The Sock Shop — Local services in Athens

While visiting a friend in Cleveland, TN, she wanted to take me to the tiny outlet store attached to a sock plant, where she said we could buy "slightly irregular" socks at a discount price, but it was closed due to COVID. However, I found this place and it turned out to sell those slightly irregular socks for discounted prices as well as regular merchandise. The racks outside had the cheap socks, but even inside they had a few shelves with discounts too. Such soft socks! I love them! I was specifically looking for over-the-calf socks and found them in all the colors I wanted except brown. I spent over $100 and my husband made fun of me a little, but he found some MANLY socks and spent about $60 himself! I was on the fence about a cute dress they had, because the care label said "hand wash and hang to dry" and I thought out loud, "Hm, thats a little too high maintenance for me", but the cashier said, "Oh, I just wash them on delicate cycle and hang to dry...they are so soft!" I was sold! Way to be a good...

Crescent socks are the most comfortable longest lasting sock on earth. I wear a size 15 and love the Power cushion socks. I live a long way from this store but I stop in anytime I'm near to pick up as many pairs that I can afford. I have been in the factory and can assure you that they are made with care and by people who work hard to make quality socks. This family business is what America needs to return to. Their quality is clear when you slide your foot in to that sock for the first time( you all know what I'm talking about). I wish they did internet sales I would certainly buy socks more often. If you have time to stop in they have a huge selection of socks in all sizes and colored patterns. You might regret going because you will ruin your feet for all...

SOCKS DON'T LAST ANYMORE

The Sock Shop used to make nice cushioned socks (back when they were branded as HEAD socks and sold at CostCo), but now the quality has drastically gone down. The elastic within the ribbing above the ankle gives out after only 2 or 3 washes...unlike the older generation.

The photo shows the older generation (left) and the new generation (right). The older ones I have had for a number of years and are GREAT; the newer ones I've only had a few months. Needless to say... NOT...
