Weigel's — Local services in Athens

Refused to sell my husband a can of snuff because I was with him (I'm in my late 30's with wrinkles btw) even though we literally drove a semi there and he provided his CDL for age verification, because I didn't have my wallet on me. Um, I'm not the driver, I lm the passenger princess this weekend, I don't use tobacco, I don't have my DRIVERS license with me in the state because I don't need it. We left and went across the road to speedway where they will get our business from now on. If this is how you treat truck drivers, your loss. Imagine how much money speedway will now get in sales of diesel fuel (our tanks hold 260 gallons) and food because your cashiers ignorance. Show me the law that says a wife has to provide her license for a grown man to buy tobacco. Silly.

TN Code § 39-17-1505 (2024)

(a) It is unlawful for a person who has not attained twenty-one (21) years of age to possess either a tobacco, smoking hemp, vapor product, or smokeless nicotine product, to purchase or accept receipt of either product, or to present or offer to any person any purported proof of age that is false, fraudulent, or not actually that person's own for the purpose of purchasing or receiving any tobacco, smoking hemp, vapor product, or smokeless nicotine product.

You're telling me you don't sell cigarettes or snuff to a mother or father that brings their small child in the store with them either? Because I literally observed that first hand during the exact same time I was in there! If this is about tobacco and children, and you're trying to say all people that come in the store together is required to be above 21 for one person to purchase tobacco, you would think your employee wouldn't have sold cigarettes to that mother then. 🤷🏼‍♀️ No, it was just to us. While I love this Weigel's, Ashley failed to take care of an issue I had with two punks harassing me a couple of weeks ago. So come now today, February 22, 2025 I was at the pump getting diesel fuel and I came out and who was in front of me, that punk couple about an inch from my front bumper. The female was in the car video taping me as I walked to my truck and while I pumped my diesel. Not once did they get any fuel, only one fountain soda by the male who decided to shoot his mouth off to me in the store. I made contact with the Assistant Manager, Rebecca who assisted me in calling the police bc they decided to wait out by the pump for me to come outside. They finally left after about 6 minutes. Rebecca did amazing bc I felt like I was being harassed and this shouldn't be allowed at anyone's place of business. As a veteran with PTS(d) this makes me not want to go to this store anymore. A police report was made and I'm asking that Ashley do the right thing and not allow them to continue this behavior when they see my truck. Because the CCTV clearly shows them getting ready to pull into a parking spot until they saw my truck. All witnessed by Rebecca. Huge shout out to the Athens Officer that came out to take my report ... they were very professional...
