I ordered a package of rare books from Amazon. When there was a delay in delivery I tracked the passage it said it had come to this distribution center. It sat there for days until I received a notification that my package may have been lost. I put in a find my mail search. The USPS waited until the last possible day to call me back and begin the search. 30 days later I get an email saying "every effort was made" to find my mail. 30 days after that I get an email saying search expired after a "thorough" search. I sincerely hope that every effort was indeed made and that there was a thorough search, but I have my doubts. I am so upset at what happened. Based on the clues of the package tracking, it seems this distribution center lost my mail, which I can only assume means the package was either: destroyed; damaged and thrown away; damaged, plundered and then thrown away; or stolen. This package is not replaceable! It was filled with rare books no longer in print, I have no confidence that they can be found again. This is a "burning of the Library of Alexandria moment" - knowledge being lost due to incompetence or thievery. I don't know what happened and I want to believe the best, but this is absolutely unacceptable. The level of incompetence is staggering, and my trust in the USPS has been...
Read moreI am currently waiting for my customer in GA to receive a very expensive package (yes it is insured and signature requested). It has been in the Atlanta Network Distribution Center for over 10 days and tracking claims it is late but is still going to be delivered. Yeah right. I have to refund my customer in good faith and file a claim for insurance(which is only half the value because I trusted in the USPS). There is no one to talk to or email about this as efforts by myself and local post offices have gone unanswered. I will be writing to the Postal Inspector and the Attorney General. I know my package was labeled properly and taped so well, there is no way it could have gotten lost. I'm sure it's stolen. What a letdown and disappointment. I see many others are having the same problem, especially with this facility. Why is no one resolving these issues? Why is there no one responding to this very obvious problem. I'm done using USPS. Is there another delivery service...
Read moreMy package has been stuck in Atlanta for over a week. I live in West Virginia, it was sent from Virginia. Literally not that far away... Was sent to Knoxville, and then unfortunately sent to Atlanta, Georgia. Where it has been sitting there. Like so many other people, I need this mail. Have no idea what kind of operation you all are trying to run, but everyone there needs to get it together. I have mail that's imported, and it's being delivered to me faster. It's sad when other countries across the world are delivering mail faster than in my own country... You would think after all of these complaints that I'm reading. The employees there would put all their heads together, have a mandatory meeting, and get it done, the right way. Fix your machines, don't rely so heavily on a robot to do the job for you. If nobody there can send a package in a timely fashion that's honestly a few states over. Then they don't need to be working there, go someone else. Get...
