HIDDEN GEM KITCHEN & MARKET IN EDGEWOOD, ATLANTA 🥪🥤🥞✨ If you love a diner with a retro vibe, then Pure Quill Superette in Edgewood should be on your list for your next breakfast or lunch. We ordered the Cod Royale, Classic Club Sandwich, Fried Tofu with Kimchi, and our favorite bite - the Squash Pancakes. They also have a small supermarket inside with produce, meats, pantry staples and more. Check it out soon! #edgewood #atlanta #hiddengem #foodie #atlantafood

Congrats another “Atlanta favorite” disappoints. I knew as I pulled up and saw 1 car in the parking lot and 1 table being occupied that there couldn’t be many thrills to experience. Against my better judgement I told myself give them the chance to show their value. As I went in, the door hadn’t even closed behind me, the guy at the register asked “what can I get for you today”. Which I cocked my head in confusing and asked if I could have at least a second to view the menu. He seemed in a rush as if there was a line which again the place was empty. I opted for the fried chicken (drums) because who doesn’t like good fried chicken. I sit down and about 10-15 mins the order comes up. Immediately the chicken looked pretty dark and over fried, but looks could be deceiving. I tasted a few friends and there was zero salt/seasoning in them at all. So I grab the salt and seasoning them. I asked for honey and the cashier guy said “oh we’re out of that”… ok it’s a store I guess grabbing some off the shelf for your restaurant is not an option. Anyway I taste the chicken and my mind is blown. It takes like pure burnt flour. Not a lick of seasoning and the chicken taste as if it was cooked at too high of a temp in potentially dirty oil that had burnt bits in it tainting the entire fryer. I tried to add some salt but the bitterness was just too much. It came with ranch which was pretty much white water and that was quickly pushed to the side. I approached the counter with the food and he asked “what’s the issue” I explained the problem and he said “ sometimes you swing for the fences and miss I guess but looks fine to me” At which point we moved forward with a refund and I declined ordering anything else. The picture you can see 2-3 grains of salt which was from me before stopping to take a “raw” Photo of the food.

What an awesome cute brilliant little shop. They had plenty of groceries but we went in there for the breakfast and were blown away. Bacon egg and cheese. Brioche sandwich was like a burger. It was amazing. Delicious cheese sauce. The fried pickles were dynamite. Everything was super fresh and hot. Looks like they are full service butcher shop too, and the space it’s really cool with lots of seating inside and out. Highly recommend for lunch or breakfast.!!!!

If you have been making the same mistake I have and driving past this place telling yourself “I need to check that place out…” without stopping let me go ahead and strongly emphasize that YOU NEED TO CHECK THIS PLACE OUT!!!

Stopped in today to grab a lunch on the way home… ended up with a feast. The Buffalo Pork Chop sandwich was the size of a Dodge Neon and holy smokes was it incredible. Got the greens… yes. Got the slaw… yes yes. Got the fries… and you guessed it… YES. Oh… got the fried pickles too. Big ole chefs kiss to those bad boys.

If you know me, you know the quickest way to this man’s heart is a Twisted Tea while I wait… and they had Twisted Tea Light. Didn’t even know this existed before that. My waistline said thank you for that by the way to make up for family sized sandwich I devoured hunched over my coffee table like a Tolkien character.

To the people of Pure Quill...

I’ve been eyeing Pure Quill on ig and finally had the day off and stopped by.

First of all- it’s sooooo cute and has just really nice little selection of high quality and kitsch items.

Tatum was literally the nicest person. So friendly, amazing costumer service. Vibes were immaculate.

I got the hot chocolate, fresh juice, and a hot ham and cheese.

Hot chocolate was SO GOOD. Perfect amount and had a little touch of seasoning that made it incredible.

The fresh juice was FRESH. Let me tell you. Delicious.

And the hot ham and cheese was great! Lots of meat. Felt really like high quality ingredients. Great flavor!

Just make sure you’ve got some time to wait but there’s so much to look at...
