I came to The Elder Tree on a karaoke night based on one heck of a word of mouth endorsement. I was not prepared for the absolute fantastic experience. I actually met the owners! Both of the owners were extremely nice and friendly, and the two bar tenders that were on shift that night were amazing! As a previous business owner, I was amazed how well they kept the bar and took care of all the customers. I was never but a small signal away from more drinks, and everybody was very professional and very efficient. I was delighted when one of the owners even sang a song for karaoke night!
This is hands down one of my favorite bars to visit when I travel to Atlanta, and I absolutely cannot wait to go back! Excellent atmosphere! Fantastic staff! Oh.. I forgot to mention their drinks are normal and not over priced!!! Fun story: I actually complained to one of the owners, “clearly there must be a problem with my bill.. I was buying drinks for 4 people, surely you missed something…” the owner themselves went and checked, and nope, every single drink I bought was on the ticket, the bar tenders were on their game, it just turns out their drinks are reasonably and not over priced! What a delightful surprise come ‘Close out the check’ time!
Pro tip: buy the karaoke DJ a beer, he’s a great dude and deserves a beer!!
Seriously…. Going out for a good time? This is the place to be, I can’t wait for this to be an “Iconic Atlanta landmark” so I can say I was there in their early days!!!

Read moreFinally visited this place after the Elder Tree was replaced. I’ll be honest and say that the chaotic menu turned me off so it took me a while. But we decided to finally try it out. We were surprised to find we had walked in on their 1 year anniversary and were only serving their ‘greatest hits’. Okay, well I wasn’t super interested with anything left on the menu but we still gave it a try. The okra crisps were not much of an app, it was shaved into tiny shreds, more like a topping, how am I supposed to dip in a sauce? I ordered Mike’s favorite chicken and my husband ordered the Hellfire burger. The chicken was cooked well but I couldn’t taste it beyond the soy sauce. I winced at every bite. The fried rice was also well made but way too salty. I couldn’t finish my food, it was overwhelmingly salty. My husband’s burger was a bit better. Not the best I’ve had but probably the best thing I had that night. I hate that these were the greatest hits because it means I won’t be back. The location is great and the service was awesome, but man I cannot stomach the food...
Read moreA must experience if you're any kind of foodie or spirits aficionado. Since new ownership this place is brilliantly evolved into a reason to get out of the house and enjoy an amazing atmosphere of laid back pleasantry, tucked away in the EAV. The food tastes like it was delivered from the heavens and cultivated with LOVE and Aphrodisia. Bartenders are easy and familiar with the menu unlike many places around Atlanta, where "they just work there" and dunno a hair.
Originally I was out hunting for a steak dinner, but the bar crew convinced me and try a burger, and I wasn't expecting to ascend into the heavens with a foodgasm known as.. The Red Devil. Oh the irony, when I laid eyes on this dish descended from the heavens. I started with Corona and ended with a COVID CABANA PUNCH of delightful delivery. Other than a viciously delish menu, this bar offers Dart throwing on the regular with an eclectic mucic playlist and poker night Tuesdays. Interior decor is my type of clever cross between grunge and clean minimalist aesthetic, sporting...
