I am what they consider a senior, and found a jacket that I thought my granddaughter would like however, it didn’t have a price. The jacket wasn’t a Northface jacket nor a Columbia brand named jacket. So I am thinking it should be about $3.99 or $4.99 at the most $5.99. So the manager was called to the register to price the jacket. To my surprise, she said $8.99 for a size 8 kids jacket that was donated. My mouth dropped, and I said, what? The young white lady looked at me and said yes $8.99… I expressed to her that other jackets on the floor comparable to this one were $3.99 and $4.99. I can’t believe you are telling me $8.99. To which she repeated $8.99. So I said you keep it and I will not be back. That was ridiculous! I use to think they were better than most others and I do find when I come earlier and encounter the African American workers, they make the atmosphere more pleasant and you don’t feel like the company is trying to get over on you! Very disappointed… I really felt some type a way. As I said… I will not be back nor recommend coming to this...
Read moreI had a fantastic experience at The Salvation Army Family Store & Donation Center in Auburn Hills! I initially went in looking for black jeans for an upcycling project, but I was blown away by the deals. It happened to be a brown tag day, where select items were only $1 if you bought at least five. I found a pair of H&M jeans and grabbed a few other things, turning a $46 total into just $21. Who doesn’t love a deal like that? 🤩
The store itself was well-lit, organized, and stocked with plenty of pre-loved treasures. The atmosphere was relaxed, and it was easy to take my time browsing without feeling rushed. What really stood out, though, was the staff. They were friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond to make the experience welcoming, even chatting with my kids.
I wholeheartedly recommend this location for anyone who loves thrifting. Whether you’re looking for a specific item or just browsing for a bargain, you’re bound to find something great. Don’t forget to check out the sales—they make a...
Read moreThis review is for donating only - I've not shopped inside. As far as donating, I have always found this location to be easier than the Rochester Hills location on Auburn Road. Today sealed the deal. I'll never try to donate at the Auburn Hills location again. I went twice between their window of 10-2 and the line was so extraordinarily long both times. I drove to THIS location and there was a car in front of me driving off from donating when I pulled up. No wait. The sign said "10 - 5" so although officially on the website it says they stop donating at 2, they must change that on some days. The small amount of time that is added by making the drive to this location if more than made up for by usually not having to wait at all in a...
