BriarPatch began as a natural food buyers Club in 1976. They are now in their 47th year of operation. They give back hundreds of thousands of dollars to local nonprofits. Not only do they specialize in healthy, Earth friendly foods, they also support their local community. BriarPatch offers a great variety of fresh, ready to eat meals, drinks and baked goods. They sell organic vegetables, grains and beans. The cheeses and meats have no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives, no antibiotics, no nitrates or hormones. They provide affordable natural, organic and conventional products. This is a great lunch or non-alcohol date spot. Get a smoothie, hot drink or yummy salad or sandwich. Then mosey outside to their back patio. It's private and has a relaxing vibe. If the date is going well, you can always window shop and get to know each other better. IG: SACRAMENTOHONEY

After seeing a co-worker's lunch from BriarPatch, I just KNEW I had to try it. So we drove in horrible stormy weather across town just to try the 'Taste of Heaven' grilled sandwich (add Avacado & Grilled chicken!) & my daughters choose the "BAJA Bowl & the "Salmon Poke Bowl" we stopped at the "deli/Salad bar" for some Xtra greens (pickled onions, sweet peppers & more) & picked up a couple of "MainRoot." Bottled sodas & sat down to a leisurely early dinner at their dinning area. Prices are reasonable & the atmosphere is quirky & fun--just right for lunch or dinner with the teens (or kids!)

Diego, who I believe is one of the supervisors at the Auburn location, was such a joy to interact with. I observed his efforts and hard work. He goes out of his way to make the experience a pleasant and exciting one. I believe he is deserving of a raise without a doubt. If his superiors read this review, I pray that they can give him some positive and encouraging recognition. Thank you Diego for the awesome experience. I wish there were more people like you in the world! Sincerely, CS

I’m beyond disappointed in the outcome of this store. It was a store that was supposed to be built on COMMUNITY, yet as employees who are apart of the community, our voices went unheard. What made the store was the employees. The employees were the ones there serving, assisting, and answering questions yet if we’d bring up a problem it was glazed over. Upper management gossips about you to your equals, but as long as you’re their friend the favoritism will save you and you will have a good work experience. Brian will also tell you to “Calm down” when not even speaking to him and when overhearing the conversation of workplace abuse will say “That’s your job” But quite frankly it’s nobody’s job to tolerate workplace abuse ESPECIALLY on a lousy hourly wage for the work that’s done. I give huge props to the deli workers who bust their butts yet get no recognition.

I believe that Auburn Briarpatch would be a lot more successful if the Management actually pushed what this store was supposed to be built on. COMMUNITY. But I guess you only care so much when you...

Just paid a visit to a highly anticipated new market that just opened here in Auburn, California, The BriarPatch Co-op. People around here had been excited for it to come, and many said they loved the one up in Grass Valley. Unfortunately, my wife and I were less than impressed, this is not a market we will be patronizing. I kind of expected a sort of Trader Joe's on steroids. But, what I found was a sort of trendy Bristol Farms like place that we found expensive and a bit pretentious. A lot of organic fruits and vegetables(7.99 for a tub of Spring Mix!), a big emphasis on packaged food to go. Meat counter with smaller cuts, of beef, pork, chicken, etc.. more suited to a single person or couple, not someone buying for a large family or gathering. We did buy several items as they had a few good opening day coupons. I guess they feel the area has some well heeled residents that are looking for a place like this to shop. My wife and I grew up in Southern California, in Orange County, so we had plenty of exposure to pretentious places. Just my...

I don't know what happened to briar patch they used to be really good some of the employees on the floor stocking shelves are very helpful however there is a checker that provided zero eye contact 0% ability and seem to be on a little something she did not hand me a receipt and slurred her words I don't know her name she had black hair dressed up like she visited the Goodwill store even though she had pretty eyes she did not look professional and did not conduct herself in a very positive manner I think she was on a little something I will now only go to briar patch in Auburn if it is a dire need but for everything else I will be going somewhere other than briar patch on Bell road what a pity due to one person ruin it for the rest the people in produce are absolutely awesome !!!! My two children absolutely used to love to go to briar Pat's to check out their healthy chocolates and candy instead we get to do it online on the computer from another store until I can figure out where I'm going to go...
