Google needs to implement a zero star option for places like this.
Bought a Jackery 400 watt portable power station after consulting with a sales associate -- was told that she owns the same one and is able to power her heated blanket, desk lamp, and charge her phone over night only draining only about 30% of the Jackery's battery. After using it to only power my heated blanket, it died in about two hours. Prior to purchasing, I asked about the return policy and was told I had 90 days to return with the receipt.
Here's where they lost me as a customer forever. I tried to return it the very next day as it clearly did not satisfy my needs. Found out upon returning it that there is a 20% restocking fee, which came out to $56.00. I explained that nobody mentioned that to me, even after asking about the return policy. Tried to talk to a manager, but she was rude as can be and wouldn't even come out from the back stocking area to talk to me face to face. She said there's nothing she could do and that the price tag says "subject to restocking fee" on it. I went to look for myself, and to my surprise, it actually did say subject to restocking fee but written in 2 pt font so nobody can see it. She also gave me an attitude and told me it says right there on the receipt -- Lady, you only get a receipt after purchase, as we all know so that's just a complete BS thing to say to anyone.
Congrats, Harbor Freight, Auburn, California -- I will never come back and will do my best to stear other people away from your business for as long as I live in the area. I am beginning with this review and not stopping there. Thanks for stealing...

There's been multiple instances when I get ads online that Harbor Freight is having one of their promotions where you buy something and you get 3 free things if you're a member. So I go down to the store, buy something and request the free items only to be told that the store is only doing 1 free item, not like I saw on their advertisements. This is extremely annoying as that's part of why I joined the 'club' to begin with.
The second gripe that I have is that the employees are not helpful when asked about the specials. Again there's been multiple instances where I ask an employee if they're running any deals for members or if there are coupons I can redeem while I'm there (I often stop by at the store on a whim or if I'm in the area - sometimes I also don't have my phone with me). In all instances, the employees say not today or I get a 'I don't care' shrug followed by a blank stare. I buy the items and then I proceed to check their app or my email and there's endless coupons for me to redeem. One time I actually went back to return an item and repurchase it using a coupon and the clerk up front had the audacity to give me attitude for trying to make a return and almost wouldn't do it.
Because of these encounters I now only go to this store to buy the cheapest smallest items and I now stay away from buying anything else.

Read moreCame in to the store today to get a hand truck. Asked the girl, who happened to be a manager, think her name was Shauna to get me one since they are carried in the back of the store. She was not very friendly and acted like I was bothering her. After she got the hand truck from the back, I was going to wheel it up to the front like a gentleman should do, and she said rudely I got it and it would be up front by the cashier.
To top it off, I made my purchase and on the way out, realized the cashier gave me the incorrect change. My bill was $103 and some change. I gave him $105. He gave me back $21 and some change. I came back it and told him he gave me too much money back. He was very polite and thankful. He consulted with the same manager lady and once again she was very rude. She took the cash drawer and went to count it to make sure I was correct. She came back and said I was correct and only owed $1 and some change back.
No thank you for being honest. No thank you for bringing it to their attention so the cashier doesn’t get In Trouble. No nothing.
