Aside from the motley crew that accepts your donations or acts like they're loading you vehicle, this place is awesome! With plenty of ever-changing inventory, you're bound to find almost any household item that you're looking for. From appliances to rugs, furniture, paint, plumbing, and so much more. We usually buy our furniture from there and when we feel like a change, we donate that back and then purchase 'new' items. On our most recent visit we purchased a few hundred dollars worth of furniture for our new apartment. When we arrived home, we realized that they had given us the wrong size glass shelves for our China cabinet. When we returned to the the store to try to correct the problem, Carlos, a manager, went above and beyond to help us. He listened to us without interrupting, and without hesitation offered a solution. He was professional, courteous, and polite. We went in a little perturbed by the mix-up and the way the loading dock employees treated me, but left there feeling like we were V.I.P. customers. I highly recommend this store for all of your household products, and would like to suggest a raise for Carlos. Instead of us avoiding this place in the future, Carlos turned us into lifelong, extremely satisfied customers. Give them a try; you won't be...
Read moreI went into habitat for humanity to get supply’s to finish the re-model I was doing. I spent about 2 hours in there shopping. I had in my cart everything I needed to finish the re-model I was on a deadline to finish. I had completely forgot by the time I got to the register that they don’t accept US currency. Only debit or credit. So I asked them if they could please take my cart to the back and hold my stuff because I didn’t have my debit card on me. They said ok. I decided to just go get a net spend card since it would be quicker than going all the way home, I go buy the net spend card and make one other stop. By the time I had gotten back there not only had they put my cart back but someone bought almost all the items I had because they were nowhere to be found in the store. I had just got done dealing with Lowe’s completely screwing up my order then this on top. I asked if they would give me a discount because they wasted my time. The manager said no. The rest of the staff was very rude about it as well. They got a good 600 dollars out of me over the last two weeks but I won’t ever shop at the AUBURN habitat for humanity again. The Tacoma location is worth the drive. The prices are way...
Read moreI want to preface by saying I loved Habitat and would pick through on the weekends to grab little furniture pieces for my home at an affordable price, give them a little TLC and for someone who doesn’t have a ton of spendable income it felt good. I’d grab little funky pieces and gift items after cleaning them up and truly loved to come by and support.
The pricing that has suddenly happened within the past year is ATROCIOUS. Night stands with water cup damage for $145? Leather couches with scratches for $350? I understand prices have gone up but the team at Habitat very much needs to re-evaluate not just their prices but their values.
As someone who was able to create an affordable home and has spent thousands at the store over the years on a fridge, a stove, my dining table among many other things, I only hope you can listen when I say you are driving away your everyday community members and making it harder for everyday folks to create affordable home living with you as a partner.
The community which you serve is not this and the fact that you think it is appropriate to price these items, which folks provide to you for free, at a premium above retail?
Do better: Price your items fairly and stop being...
