My kids and I all love this park. We wish it were a little bit closer to home but I let them hop in our wagon and I bicycled them to Les Grove because of the awesome "Spray-Ground". We found it in a maps search and having seen the parks variety and size during some recent events held there we knew it was the park we needed to get to in the heat of the day. Awesome water feature is opened and running until 8 PM. THIS is cool for me because I'm a late rise, graveyard shifter and they miss out on some activities due to that. The park itself is closed at dark but there were surprisingly a lot of families still enjoying the cool down until nearly ten o'clock on the day we visited. There were even local PD in a patrol car in the lot but they actually left before us. Kinda cool because it was a chilax atmosphere. There were lots of kids enjoying the slides that are built into a small hill with a steep face for climbing, ufo styled-rocking action-merry go round, disk shaped swing and a bunch of other attractive things for the kids including a sand pit for some classic fun castle building. Aside from that during the week they have an intermediate rock wall and the ropes and faculty to be sure we're enjoying climbs safely. Another cool feature is a lot of wide open space aside from the game field that I believe is set up for soccer. I'm not sure and I think there is a baseball field a well. You'll have to look for yourself because I was at the playground. Which I must add may take two parents or a friend to keep track of the kids if you have more than one because they have a lot of places the kids can leave your sight pretty quickly with the parks hills and features built onto themand the many other children of course. It seemed densely attended but there still was plenty of space for all the kids to have no need to bicker over turns on any feature there. Lots to enjoy. I'd say it's always wise to make a definite rendezvous point with the kids so if they don't see you they know where to go. Just me though. There's a lot more to this park with an activity center and more I haven't seen yet. Also as I mentioned at the start this park hosts a lot of community events with food and activities pretty often. Check this place out though, it's pretty dang nice. Matter of fact, my daughters only played in the Spray ground a few minutes because they wanted to hit the playground fast. It was a good evening. Oh yeah, barbecues are welcomed and they have a couple of areas built in with a covered family function area...
Read moreAs you look at this park it looks great, but as you visit this park more often things start to look different. There is alot of homeless people who walk around and camp out there. There are a bunch of smokers, "5150 Status" Park, Straight Tweakers walking around like sombies looking for that "Hit", dope pheins that hide behind bushes to get there "fix". With Needles, Smelly, Homeless Cluckers and Crack-Heads that love to hibernate like bears inside the library and fall asleep with there smelly feet out in the air. Homeless use that water park to take a shower with no shampoo, and they got the nerve to leave there "Fonktified, smelly, stank-ass, dirty cloths behind. I never seen so many Grimmy ass "Dope-Pheins" that love to get high, they get doped-out and just hang around. Dope-Pheins/homeless folks, tweekers, 5150's, "Jay-Cats" laying and sleeping and farting all on the grass, (Straight up Fonktified) and Straight up dirty! Needles all around the grass, you litterlly have to watch where you step. Always seen some pervert 75 year-old man who resembles (a short smoked-out on Crack-Cocain, Clint Eastwood/Leprecon) with old cowboy boots and cowboy hat with 4-door, red beet-up Ford Taurus Sedan with WA Lisence plates ( LAURRA)- straight up stalking little girls, "Sexual Predator" That park is discusting to me, the County employees who maintain that area should have better judgement on what a "Real Park" should look like, they got no shame and lost there minds. Thats a straight up nasty-ass park i will never go there ever, ever again nor do i recommend that park to have...
Read moreThis one's a favorite. There's something to do here every season, with beautiful sculptures and inscriptions, of both of our history as well as our present. From the wall of various names who were an integral part of one of our military units to the sun dial along with what must be a lifelike display of our planet among the rest intricately lain into a vast table; including a huge wall climbing area, although care is cautioned due to many loose pieces I've encountered while ascending. This isn't a simple, plain park. Springs can include bike treks with provided bikes and maintenance lessons. Summers turn into water filled fun as fountains are activated. Falls can be enjoyed by all, including rentable enclosures for special occasions or to hold and host an event. Winters enhance its invitation as crystalline bounces across every surface. Also, conveniently available businesses located in and nearby include the community center, library, senior center, museum, and international plus regular eateries, gas stations, grocery stores, drive-thru prayer offerings, thrift shops, auto...
