Donut Star — Restaurant in Auburn

Drove 25 minutes here to bring my husband his favorite donut on his birthday. Woke up early, sat through traffic—arrived—CLOSED. Despite all platforms and Google saying they open at 5:30am. That was December.

This morning, I thought “Surely they’ll be open at 7:35am” especially since again, all platforms (Yelp, Google, etc.) say ‘Open’.

What do you know, wasted my time AGAIN. Closed, lights off.

Luckily there was Donut & Muffin Factory nearby. Great service and great donuts. Don’t waste your time with Donut Star and their inconsistent hours.

Wasn’t open and no one was there, I made an order for my sisters birthday and timed it for 7:00 am to be ready, they open at 5:00 and were accepting orders on their website and from DoorDash and store front was suppose be open but no one was there working. After having a chocolate bar from this spot, no other donut compares! I dream about these donuts because they aren't covered in candy and junk. Just simple, delicious goodness. The dough is exactly what you expect and the frosting isn't super-sweet. They are just right and I know that if I get a donut anywhere else, I will likely be disappointed because these are so fresh!
