My hope with this review is that the dealership would fix those things that happened to me and avoid a similar occurrence from happening to someone else.
This is what happened. You draw your own conclusion. I would hope that when supply and demand evens out that the dealership would take the importance of having happy customers more seriously.
4/29/21 – Contacted Nash Powersports to confirm the Yamaha FJR was still available. I live 164 miles away. 5/1/21 – Drove up the next morning. Completed the purchase, they prepared the bike and was pleased with the transaction, less absolutely no wiggle room on the price of the bike or any one time discount on accessories I might want to buy. Drove the bike home with a 3-day permit. 5/3/21 – Drove the bike to the Oregon DMV to license and register it – waited in line for over 3 hours only to learn that I was missing a necessary document called the “Manufacturers Certificate of Ownership (MCO)”. 5/4/21 - Called the dealership on Tuesday(dealership closed on Mondays) and talked to the person that took care of the paperwork. He told me that he was sorry he failed to tell me that when I bought the bike. The dealership would not send the MCO until the Cashier’s check cleared. He would confirm the check cleared and send me the MCO priority mail and I should have it in 2 days (no later than 5/6/21). I would receive an email that day with the tracking numbers so I can verify the delivery date. No email was ever sent – read on. 5/8/21 – No MCO in the mail (2 days past due). Called the business office to find out what happened. They informed me that the check had not cleared and that is the reason they did not mail me the MCO. They also scanned the MCO document and emailed to me in the hope that Oregon DMV would accept it. Knew they would not accept it. To make the bike legally drivable they would be also sending me via overnight FedEx two more 3-day permits. They arrived 5 days later 5/12/21 via USPS. The first permit has already expired. 5/9/21 – Contacted Wells Fargo who informed me the Certified Check cleared on 5/4. Forwarded the phone number of the Branch Manager at Wells Fargo to the dealership Sales Manager. The Sales Manager promised me that he had taken the MCO document home, would call the bank on Monday, and overnight the MCO document to me. I would receive it no later than 10:30AM on 5/11/21. 5/10/21 – Received a text from the Sales Manager informing me that he could not send me the MCO because the business office failed to have the MCO notarized by the owner. They also did not know if the Notary would be in on Tuesday and he would not respond further on his day off. My last text to him informed him I would be at the dealership Tuesday morning at 10AM to straighten this nightmare out face to face. I took the risk riding the bike with a permit that expired 7 days ago. 5/11/21 – Arrived at the dealership at 10AM. They had the MCO document ready and left the dealership with little remorse from the dealership.
Summary: • I should have been told at the time of purchase that I could not license the bike until the check cleared when they would send me the MCO by mail. If I would have known that I would have brought cash. Note: The dealership treats a cashier’s check no different than a personal check. Apparently a Cashiers Check can be a fraudulent as a personal check. • The dealership was telling me as late as 5/10 the check still had not cleared and remained the reason, they were holding the MCO. I researched with Wells Fargo and notified them it cleared 5/4/21 and sent the information to the Sales Manager. • Received the additional temporary permits too late to be of any use. Sent USPS instead of FedEx as I was told. • The dealership told me that a scan copy of the MCO would work at the Oregon DMV. It would not. • Having no faith, the dealership could get their act together, I had no choice but to ride back to the dealership on 5/12 and straighten things out face to face (a...
Read moreI was extremely disappointed with my entire experience at NASH. I went in and bought a new quad because my uncle told me they were a great shop. Now I will say from the start that the quad I bought is an entry level quad for my wife so that she can learn how to ride. After I bought the quad it took them two days to get the quad to work properly in order for me to pick it up. That should’ve been my first warning. After a combined 35 miles from small riding trips the quad started having issues, it would randomly die when it was going 30-40 mph, sometimes it wouldn’t start, and then the speedometer stopped working. I took the quad back in to get it taken care of because I was insured by my first salesman that this bike was completely warrantied because it was a new brand and they wanted to make sure they were standing behind the bikes they sold. They ended up trying to charge me 700 dollars for what they said was maintenance issues, claiming there was nothing wrong with the quad. I talked them down to 200. And this was all after they had the quad in their possession for almost 2 weeks without so much as a call to me to update me. Every time I talked to them it was because I called in. They ended up not being able to fix the speedometer which was the only thing they said was covered under the warranty. And finally when I went to go pick up the quad they charged me an additional 120 bucks for stupid charges. All in all..I will never buy a bike from them again. I planned on buying three new things this next year but I will not give any more money to this dealership. If you buy something 9-12 grand I’m sure they’ll take care of you much better. But if you are buying any entry level ride they treat you like trash. Sorry for the book……
Update 3 weeks later, the comment below from Aric Muse was from my initial posting of my comment. I contacted him by phone where he proceeded to give me a salesman speech about how Kayo can deliver a variety of vehicles to be sold that can vary in quality from bulletproof to having a variety of issues. He then stated that this is not their responsibility to take the financial hit for these problems even though a 2 year warranty was added onto the loan when the bike was purchased. He made it clear to me that this is a warranty supplied by the dealership to ensure quality of product. When I asked him if that’s the case then shouldn’t they make sure the machine I bought is working properly, he told me he wouldn’t give me a direct answer until he talked with his technicians. Overall it was the same conversation as a mother with a 12 year old for not wanting to take responsibility for a bad product. The only reason he commented was to look good for someone looking through Google reviews, not to find any resolution for selling a machine that does not hold its weight for the price I paid. Aric if you want to call me again that’s fine, but unless you want to buy the bike back for the price I paid, don’t bother. It only has 30 miles on it so the price point shouldn’t be half the msrp like previously...
Read moreShopped around for a while and ended up doing a deal here for a Polaris RZR. Overall a good experience. Direct and up front salesman and sales managers which I appreciate. Professional and knowledgeable. The parts dept did a well enough job but could have been better. It isnt affecting my review rating because it was good enough. I spent around 4k just on accessories and was disappointed to get home and find that both the $550 light bar I bought, and the $200 quick connect fire extinguisher kit were missing parts needed to actually install them. Since it's an hour drive one way for me to go back to Nash I spent $50 on Amazon for the stuff needed to properly install. Didn't bother calling to give them a chance to assist so that is on me - but nothing they could have done I am sure that wouldn't have involved me driving back lol. All in all I spent 38k there that day and expected a spotless machine on delivery. The sales manager told me they would wash it when I mentioned it had some bird stuff on the back sitting in the showroom. Went out to take delivery after doing all the paperwork and no one had ever washed it. That was a lack of communication and lack of processes imo. HOWEVER, my salesman made it right immediately and power washed the machine while we BS'd outside. So I appreciate him doing that since someone else that probably should have - failed to. All in all id do business with Nash Powersports again and probably will as I have a habit of buying new toys every...
