Pacific Hazelnut Farms & Candy Factory — Local services in Aurora

December 2021 update:

Pacific Hazelnut has become a winter holiday shopping destination for us. East coast relatives are now asking for specific products by name, so our previous browsing sessions, choosing interesting looking products at random (or, in pre-pandemic times, making good use of their samples), have really paid off. It's slightly annoying to realize how little I get to ultimately eat from the things we buy here, but knowing we'll always find great gifts makes the drive from Portland a bit more pleasant. You'll find a nice mixture of good sized packaging that shows off what's inside, and larger gift box varieties that make it easy to feel generous when shopping for others. This store has also become a place where we bring out of town visitors - knowing that they'll find local delicacies to take back home with them. Actually, the entire town of Aurora is a great visitor destination.

We had rarely ventured very far south of downtown Aurora, but I'm glad that we expanded our area of exploration a couple of years ago, and happened to notice the sign. Pacific Hazelnut has become a regular stop when showing out of town guests around, and is a wonderful spot for gift shopping, buying quality local items for our children that are currently living out of state. In the pre-pandemic times, samples made shopping here particularly easy, but everything is packaged to show off the contents, so even though you may not be able to have a taste up front, you are not likely to be disappointed. They have gift items, pre-packaged, but we enjoy looking around and gathering up our own custom bundles. Nuts, chocolate, jams/jellies, sauce mixes - it's a can't lose impulse...

Small building but had a good variety of hazelnut items. Also available were various kinds of jelly/jams. I purchased a jar of peach jam for my husband and he said he hadn't had that kind in years. Shop was very clean and organized wonderfully as your eyes could scan products easily. Salesperson was most helpful as some in our group had not been here before and any question that was asked was explained easily and she did have samples available.
