This is going to be a review about the service that was provided to me, by somebody Best Buy hired, whom they thought would be a great candidate for the position. I'm going to talk about the service Carlos provided me, that encouraged me to make a sale at Best Buy. I met Carlos last year when I came in interested in learning how to photograph. Carlos knew I was not looking to commit to anything but he still gave me his time. Carlos shared all of his knowledge, as he himself is a photographer. Mind you, I was a beginner who didn't even know the difference between a mirrorless and a DSLR camera. I walked out well informed and probably learned what I would have learned in about 8 hours of YouTube videos in .25 of the time. As mentioned, I wasn't looking to actually buy the camera, I was very convinced, but I decided to pass, because of my financial situation at the time. I knew I would eventually save up the money to buy the camera so I left the papers of all his recommendations on my coffee table. Everyday I saw the folder, but it wasn't until about two months later, that I decided to go with the Canon m100. I made the right choice, thanks to Carlos. My decision was very dependent on his opinions because he knew more than I did. The sale was flawless. Carlos did a great job offering me his advice on every product. He shared with me his experiences with the equipment he was familiar with as well as sharing with me customer reviews and preferences, he also explained to me all of the features on each camera, and also informed me of their disadvantages. But most importantly, he found me a camera that met my criteria. Turns out the m100 was indeed exactly what I was looking for.
Today, I learned that Best Buy employees do not work off of commission. I shared my two cents to him about how unfortunate that is, because every sale they make is hard work and their expertise in all of the products need to earn them more money. I'll never forget what he said. Commission leads to self interest, and when you work off of commission you try to sell the most expensive product, not necessarily the best or the right product. Now that, is amazing customer service and a passionate person. In conclusion, it was a pleasant visit.
Today I went in to the store, determined to buy a laptop so that I can finally launch my streetwear apparel, Escaped Soul this year. I've also decided on pursuing a new hobby, blogging. Anyways, I had my mind set on what I thought was the best laptop to edit pictures and videos, the MacBook. Carlos walked over from the camera and video department to assist me. I had no idea he knew everything there is to know about laptops as well. I know this because I walked into the store thinking I knew what I wanted, and I walked out getting what I actually needed.
Carlos takes the time and puts in 105% of effort in taking care of his customer. His knowledge of the product gains my trust and I feel at ease that he will ensure me that I make a sound purchase. He finds the product that caters to my needs. I can tell Carlos enjoys his career at Best Buy and that he likes what he does. That makes a big difference in my shopping experience. I think you guys might need to take him on board on your marketing team. Best Buy, I have successfully made two great investments because of Carlos and I am writing this review so that he gets the recognition he deserves for his hardwork. Best Buy is lucky to have an employee like Carlos.
Sincerely,
A now well...
Read moreI came to this best buy today to make a pivotal decision. I need a new laptop and was debating between a Samsung or a Macbook. I currently own a Galaxy S3 and planned to upgrade to the S5 as soon as it is available. That was all until my poor 'samsung experience'.
I arrived at the store on 4/10 at 5:30pm and immediately walk into the mobile section. I asked about the LG flex as well as the Nokia icon 925, wanting to do my research before committing to the S5. Best buy's mobile department was phenomenal and attentive from the moment I walked in. They answered all of my questions and when they didn't know asked other employees for answers.
Next I moved to the samsung experience part of the store where the Samsung representative named Song was standing. I thought well this is great I can get detailed info from a specialist that knows his products. Instead Song immediately starts trying to fix sensors and fiddling with cables as if I was going to run out the door right in front of him with his products. I thought ok Ill give him a few minutes to get thing situated then start asking questions. After he finished with all of the security sensors he didn't seem to be able to demo the S4 or answer any of my questions about the S5.
When I asked about the S5 he said I could preorder it now and tried to push me back to the mobile department to buy it. I was confused because he wouldn't tell me any of the features or even try to sell me on the device rather he took the position of you either want it or you don't. I asked if he would have a display tomorrow on launch day to look at, he said no I better preorder it or buy it if I wanted it.
At this point I thought ok the day before launch I understand. I begin to ask about the laptops and he immediately walks away from me and goes to the best buy terminal stating he wants to make sure what ever he talks about is in stock?! Im really confused at this point because I just wanted general knowledge about what samsung has to offer not what's in stock nor was my question about what is in stock.
Next he tells me its almost his lunch break and again walks away from me without doing a demo of any of the products nor did he tell me what was in stock. I told a best buy employee what was going on and 5 minutes he comes back points at the three laptops and in broken English says this is like a 4 cylinder engine this is like a 6 cylinder engine and this is like a v8. What?! We'd talking about computers here, anytime I asked what kinda processor is this he repeats the same thing.
In the end, I've decided I'm going with a macbook and will be rethinking my smart phone decision. This was a horrible experience and I refuse to give a company business that treats their...
Read moreI Would of gave this store a five star, due to the fact I am always shopping at this location, but today wasnt as great as times I've been in there before. I went in to buy a Iphone XR (unlocked). The sale person in mobile which I think her name is "Courtney". She was very rude. This isn't my first time having her as a mobile sales person, but I remember the first time she was rude also. She does NOT listen to what I say. She think she knows everything. I understand she works there, but when I'm asking you something you dont have to be all rude about it. I told her simply I was coming in to buy and unlocked iPhone XR. She said with a aggressively tone and snappy attitude "we dont sale unlocked iPhone XR. I was like how come yall dont. I been buying unlocked phones from best buy for over 2 years. She mention something about a universal unlocked. She didn't go into to great details on what that is. So by this time I am frustrated because I ended up calling my carrier to ask them about the universal lock. Which they stated they don't know what that is. As I'm on the home phone with my carriers, she steady talking bout the iPhone 10. Giving details about the iPhone that I didn't ask for. I was getting the phone for my brother. She even ask him to go with her to look at the phone, but my brother was like "nah I'm good". That's what I'm talking bout when I said she's not listening. I clearly just wanted a understanding on what a universal locked. I get ready to check out she turns around after talking to coworker that was around her. She said "So what you going to do?" I said what you mean what I'm going fo do iPhones Xr. Again she mentions the iPhone 10 only because that's the only phone I can actually buy that is unlock. I wanted the phone in red. They didn't have it in red. She mentions other colors. So I ask can you check another best buy? Which she didn't do it her sales associate did it. As he using another computer to look up the other store. She pulls out her phone and started texting, and looking at her phone like she's on break, but I'm literally standing that. But more of the story is courtney is very rude, ugly and nasty. She bum rushes you when you are asking question. She gets mad when someone ask something, and give a look like you should know that. So if she does all that she do NOT need to work in customers service. I end up leaving and going to the best buy on researcher. FRANK at the location in mobile did a get job. There he explain to me what the universal lock was. But nicely and broke everything down for me. I love best buy, I just don't like when you have someone like her that isn't as polite about her job, and don't know how to...
