Play It Again Sports — Local services in Austin

I ordered a set of golf clubs from Play It Again Austin TX. There were supposed to be 7 clubs. The description said it came with every club from PW-4i essentially that it was a full set. I had been trying to find a full set of these irons for over a year and to my surprise when I received my clubs I opened the box and I was missing the 7i which is probably the most crucial club in a set. I then contacted Play It Again Austin TX to convey the details of my situation and their response was extremely rude. They said it was my responsibility to count the clubs in the tiny picture they posted of the full set and that I should've never relyed on their written description when purchasing my clubs. I obviously thought that response was a joke and felt I should be refunded the amount of the missing club. Keep in mind I've been looking for these clubs for over a year they were the same clubs I learned to play golf with as a kid. So I ended up tracking down a 7 iron which cost me almost as much as the set with the missing 7i and Play It Agains response was still we will not refund you for our mistake. They then suggested I wait for a label to come in the mail pack the clubs back up and ship then back and wait weeks for a refund. I strongly feel this was their mistake and this is not how you do business. If you as a business make a mistake you rectify that mistake and try your best to not let it happen again. The crazy part is that the refund I'm asking for is less than $15 just on principle. It clearly won't make or break either of us it's simply the right thing to do. I went to this location last night and was a little disappointed in the service. Looks like they have a great selection of used equipment along with some new equipment as well. Granted, I walked in 20 minutes before they closed, but I received no assistance from the guy behind the counter (even though I was the only person in the store) and was asked to leave at 7 because they were "closed already". I had about $150 worth of gear in my hands at the time and the sales guy gave me the impression that he couldn't possible care any less if I purchased the gear or not. So I set the gear down an walked out. Good service is very important to me; I don't mind spending more money once I find it and once I do I remain a loyal customer. I might give the South Lamar location a try and see if the service...

The community and Shoal Creek neighborhood are grateful this spot exists. Being one of the very few brick and mortar businesses with a sustainability/community focused goal that began in the 80's!!! and is still around, they aim at keeping sports affordable and accessible to us. They do a great job at taking your gear off your hands at a fair price when you no longer need it, your kids up a size/change sports, you want to try something new, or really may just need a few extra dollars to help out, they get it.
