This location USE 2 b, hands down, my absolute favorite, resale store in the ATX area. ESP when it came 2 selling my new or gently used clothing. I consistently had amazing exp's w the staff, & they always bought a good amnt of the items I brought in 2 sell. Not only that, they PAID the most $$$ compared 2 other resale stores. The SA's would always invite me back & tell me they'd be ready 4 more items, as I had them become available 2 sell. HOWEVER, ABSOLUTELY NONE OF THIS was true 4 my visit this wk. It had been mos since I was last in so I'm not sure if the entire staff has been replaced or what. W/out going into every detail which will only cause me 2 become anger, anxiety, & elevate my blood pressure, which I don't need, I wasted 6+ hrs of my day, along w/about $15 worth of fuel, postponed various errands which I really needed 2 get done, & pd someone to assist me in getting all of my items to/from the store, (I physically wasn't able to do this on my own due to a sudden gout flare-up)....ALL FOR NOTHING! Needless to say, I almost passed out when the girl presented her cookie cutter script 2 me & ended it by stating they had 2 pass on EVERYTHING. This included name brand handbags, about 1/3 were brand new, w/tags. The remaining were all in perfect/LN condition. ALL of them were current styles & all purchased w/in the last few mos. ALL of the clothing I brought in was CLEAN, NICELY FOLDED, CURRENT STYLES, & MANY OF THE ITEMS STILL HAD THE ORIGINAL TAGS ATTACHED. The remaining items were various pieces of jewelry, watches, & wallets. I only saw 2 ext young females working both times I was there, & 2 b completely honest, I'm still questioning whether or not they even looked through my bags as they appeared 2 b in the same condition/placement as they were when we left. I was hurt, frustrated, aggregated, in complete shock & feeling nauseous. I was determined NOT bring EVERYTHING back hm & have it all carried back up 2 flights of stairs, so I headed to another resale store where I left all my items overnight. This btw was an option offered 2 me upon arrival. The next am prior 2 12pm, while I was @ wk & unable 2 utilize my mobile, I rcvd a courtesy ph call w/an attached vm. (Not something SE would offer their customers as per the girl who accepted my drop off,) The vm stated they had an offer ready, & I was welcome to stop in anytime b4 9pm that same day OR the following day, whichever suited me best. It was nice knowing I had options available if needed & I wouldn't have 2 rush right over after wk. I left the "other resale shop" the following day w/a smile on my face, joy in my heart, a whole lot of gratitude, a "new" piece of clothing, & a little over $200 cash. In reg 2, "the styles weren't what they buy 4 their store". THAT CERTAINLY IS COMICAL CONSIDERING 5 OR 6, IF NOT MORE OF MY ITEMS WERE PURCHASED FROM THAT EXACT LOC, W/IN THE LAST 4-6 MO'S. Plz don't insult my intelligence. Ur only adding insult to injury. I will NOT be rtng 2 this store 2 buy OR sell anything, until there is a staff change. To the previous SE employees: Thank u 4 the outstanding cs u provided, 4 always having a smile on ur face, & 4 always making us feel...
Read moreEdit: 2/21/25 - I live nearby and after MANY MANY YEARS driving by, I decided to just give them one more try last week. Stupid on my part. đ literally nothing has changed and after reading some other comments, I know I was not wrong in feeling like I was being profiled. Iâm not one to just throw the race card, but people also need to stop using that as an excuse to justify what is clearly racial behavior. The rude and condescending tone, watching me as I walk through the store, being annoyed that Iâm asking a question, no greeting or âthank you for coming inâ even though you cheerfully do so for white (looking) patrons. Canât believe yall make any money because you clearly donât care about customers. Will continue to tell people to avoid this location. Yall are weird and obviously would have a âwhites onlyâ sign on the door if you could. Just disgusting.
HORRIBLE customer service!!! Went in to sell a bag and the lady asked me to wait about 20 minutes. I walked around the store to see if there was anything I wanted and then just went and stood to the side at the counter waiting for them to let me know the item was ready. After standing there for about 5 minutes Danay asked if she could help me with something. Told her I was waiting for something I sold to be âappraisedâ and she asked for my ID then went to pull it from a bin that was sitting on the back shelf. Why wouldnât you have told me it was ready to be cashed out if it was ready and you know Iâve been walking around waiting for you to be finished. Granted, maybe she thought I was shopping around and would come up when I was ready, but then when I was standing at the counter I still had to wait and nobody even acknowledged I was standing there. The The rusee Hispanic lady who originally gave me the form to fill out was not very friendly or welcoming, except saying hello and making small talk Spanish to the other people who came in after me. When I got back to the counter she was behind it putting price tags on stuff, and still didnât say âoh this is the lady with the bagâ. Horrible customer service and honestly one of the main reasons I will drive all the way south or go to savers instead. Regardless of the type/cost of merchandise being sold, there is no reason to act like you want to pick and choose who to properly and professionally provide assistance too. Much better places to spend your money, whether itâs $10 or $100 there are establishments that actually appreciate patronage...
Read moreI brought in about 150 items in newish condition, decent brands. They didn't buy a single thing on a slow day. Brought the same clothes to 6 other resale shops in Austin and all others bought.
Wasted my time driving there but the main thing I dislike is how the older woman (looks like store owner) was completely inconsiderate and I think some people call it "snooty."
I complimented the store and the items a few times, was cheerful and happy and this lady straight brought down my vibe with her lack of acknowledging the only customer in the store.
I was trying to have small talk a few times but she refused to even look at me because her "employee" was already so nice and talking- but what I don't like is to treat people like they don't exist at all. No hello, no thank you, NO GOODBYE, not a single word or look- & mind you I gave a few compliments at different times about items etc and she was only two feet away from her employee.
I think her employee made up for her nasty "I'm too good to acknowledge people" energy, because when I left she said "we really appreciate you coming in," and was really sweet. She had to speak on behalf of the other lady.
I've been to the store a few times in the past and am now realizing how she's done this every time. Doesn't respect or acknowledge customers. It's very unpleasant and not necessary.
I won't be coming back and I don't recommend you go in for the mere spirit of that woman. She was there every time in the past and I am 90% certain she owns the store.
Backstory- my daughter passed away in Sep unexpectedly. 14 yo. I rarely get out of the house- but when I did - this is how I was treated. The way you treat people will echo through eternity and has a ripple effect. I don't expect praise- just simply kindness and general hospitality to a store guest.
Before you respond and tell me that you were working or busy- I actually nearly bumped into you in the store and you were talking about a blazer to your employee. I said " oh wow that's so pretty, I love it," being one foot away and then you ignored what I said being the only customer and kept talking to your employee- which is the only reason for a second star here.
Based on other reviews of the way this lady treats people- I would recommend Uptown Chespeake or Buffalo Exchange- worlds better...
