Restaurant Depot — Local services in Austin

I was very excited when this new Restaurant Depot location opened since it’s much closer to me, and I shop at this franchise multiple times a week. Unfortunately, I will not be returning to this location due to how unsafe the parking lot is. The lot has a steep slope, and both times I visited this week I struggled to get my cart to my car without it rolling away. It makes it nearly impossible to purchase the amount I normally would, since even a half-full cart is difficult to control.

Today was my last visit after I had a bad accident in the lot. Just a few feet from the door, my cart slipped toward me and pinned me against a parked car. I had very few items, yet I couldn’t control it on the slope. I was left trapped and bruised, with no employees outside to help. At the time, I was more in shock than pain, but now I am dealing with significant back pain and bruising and will be seeing a doctor tomorrow. My father, who was waiting in the car, also witnessed another shopper lose control of his cart, causing his glass sodas to shatter. Clearly, this is not an isolated issue.

Even the carts have warning signs about not taking them on slopes—which is concerning, considering the entire parking lot is one large slope. This design makes the lot unsafe and puts customers at risk. I truly enjoy Restaurant Depot and will continue shopping at my old location, but I cannot recommend this one until the safety of the lot is properly addressed. It hurts me to say but just for that reason if i could zero...

⚠️ WARNING - Dangerous Parking Lot ⚠️ Your vehicle is at risk of getting hit in the parking lot! Mine did. Just reversing out of my space. Literally, nothing I could've done. I see most of the reviews have to do with the parking lot. So I'm sure this won't be the last one. Stay away! Or park far if you care about your vehicle.

Store was clean and organized. The manager, Jonothan was nice but said that Restaurant Depot isn't held responsible for what happens in their parking lot... 🫤

WARNING !! Unsafe Parking Lot !! My Cart flip & shatter my glass bottles. If you shop Full & Heavy Cart don’t come to this location at least if you want to experience a bad accident or embarrassment. I was excited for this new location don’t get me wrong Very Organized,Full Stock,Clean. I would only come here if I walking out with 4 products on my cart.
