Riverbend Centre — Local services in Austin

Being handicapped I am not able to attend Riverbends' weekly services. I do attend electronically either online or on TV. My wife and I did drive to Riverbend for the Christmas program. It was wonderful. Absolutely beautiful. We were shuttled from our parking space to the front door of the church, which was great. The only problem we had was that after the program, we were lost. I can not walk more than 50 feet at a time. Less if it is on an incline, which our route was on. Somehow, we ended up walking through a school yard. Kind of made me wish that I were a kid again and able to attend Riverbends school. Once we reached the parking lot, I used the emergency button on my key keyfob to locate our car. Very nice. Looks like a cross between a church and an events center. Beautifully designed. The stone work and the mix of the types of stone gives it a rustic feel with an elegant flare. It is uphill getting there, but the grade is gradual and winding with beautiful landscaping making the walk agreeable. Once inside the grand entry doors of wood and arched decadence is a foyer that continues the look of rustic elegance. Stepping down into the auditorium, the beautiful facade continues on the stage. The steps become a little steep at the top. Once on the landing, the steps become less cumbersome. Grounds are a lovely garden, multi-level guidance system to the entry of each bldg. We were on our way to the Event Centre for Commencement exercises. The interior is beautiful, well-planned, & very comfortable. The AC was perfect for me & I'm picky. Many event areas seem to fall short... not this one!
