If I could score this company a zero I would. United has the rudest and most inconsiderate staff members of any airline. When showed their own regulations on their website, they contradict themselves because they cannot get past their own attitude to show any selflessness.
When my husband spent $100 to check his personal bag with his suitcase (causing it to be overweight because you can't have personal items and a carry on with United anymore) to bring his instrument, the front check-in desk told him he could bring it on the plane. When he got to boarding the attendants told him he couldn't bring it on; he wasn't even allowed to gate check it. My husband calmly spoke with the staff and showed them the regulations from his phone. His employer who bought his ticket told my husband that even with the new regulations that bringing an instrument hadn't been a problem before, but the staff continued to show attitude and he ended up not getting on the plane.
I urge anyone with any respect for themselves and/or their instruments to avoid using United. Their staff members apparently do not know their own regulations. If you have a job(i.e. United Airlines Attendant), do your job. If you make a mistake, don't show attitude towards the paying customer-- especially one that's showing you nothing but manners and respect. I know this doesn't apply to every airline attendant at United and I respect the workers of United that do their job well but United has become a common problem when my husband or me happens to use their services. Every airline has their problems but United seems to...
Read moreOur flight scheduled at 12:15PM from Austin to Houston was delayed 30 to 45 minutes, and when we landed in Houston, we had about 15 minutes to get off the plane, ride a tram, run up escalators, and run across the whole airport to catch our connecting flight to Vegas. There were 2 other men that were doing the same thing. My husband and I were the last ones able to board; sweaty and distressed. We literally almost missed a connecting flight because of the airline's delay. We landed "early" at 3:45PM, and we were estastic to have a safe flight to Vegas, but our bags didn't make it, because "WE were late boarding". Which was all in the control of the airline. 20 other bags didn't make it to Vegas from the same connecting flight. Unacceptable service. I was seeing the Blue Man group for the 1st time ever in Vegas that evening for my birthday, which was the next day, and we had to rush to shop for new clothing, underwear, jewerly, makeup, etc, because most of it was in our checked bags. We were promised a refund of $150 each for new clothing for the show, but the stress itself for their mistake, wants me rate this a ZERO. I will never fly with...
Read more-every flight i took was delayed and over 1 hour late which affected my connecting flights -made me check my small carry on luggage every single time due to limited space on board. on my flight home they guaranteed me it would make it home to Austin. board my last flight and i see my bag is getting on the plane next to me to Montana… I tell the flight attendant and show him my app as well and he assured me it would be there when we landed. once landed my app says two completely different things; “your bag is in austin on spot #1 ” ,and once you click that notification it says my bag is in Montana… I go to the United baggage desk and she tells me “your bag is in Houston, we will deliver it to your house” fast forward to the next morning i check the tracking she gave me, and it’s still in Montana. Better yet it has my address spelled completely wrong. I’ve been chatting with the messaging service all day long and may finally see a light at the end of the tunnel. But wow..what a long, drawn out, incompetent mess of a situation this was. Fingers crossed my bag doesn’t show up with missing items or completely damaged. Fingers crossed it...
