My UTI/MMI journey began Jan 2018. I left my home in San Antonio, TX, to move to Phoenix, AZ, where the nearest MMI campus was located. MMI/UTI has seen me through many stages of my life in the past 7 years. As I journeyed to my new apartment and my new school, I was also beginning to go through a divorce. MMI teachers and fellow student friends helped see me through. I had teachers that didnāt just teach, they cared about your well being as well. I was able to get advice and life lessons from many walks of life. MMI also saw me through my trials with the VA. I had fellow Veteran students give me advice and coaching on what I needed to do to obtain my goals. I was able to graduate from all of Harley Davidsons classes they offer as well as Honda course. Then I took a year off and moved back to San Antonio. After about another year, maybe less, I began to get that ā I wanna learn something newā itch. But, I was having trouble figuring out what my next mission was going to be. Then I found out about UTI in Austin. I immediately knew where I was gonna go. Even if I had to travel from San Antonio every day, to me the school was worth it. Though I had no experience or know anyone at this campus. As I began my new life, with a new wife, I began my adventure at UTI. UTI saw me through the death of my mother back in February of 2024. The morning I found out, I was getting ready for school. I decided to go because we had a quiz that day. I showed up early and immediately the teacher knew something was off with me. We stepped to the side and I let him know what was going on. He immediately embraced me with a warm hug and asked if there was anything he could do. Itās that type of consideration from these instructors that really goes a looong way. I chose to take only 1 day off from school, so that I could travel back home to Mississippi for the weekend. I was at school that following Monday. Since my time here at UTI Austin, I have gained so much knowledge on the auto and diesel courses. The instructors will and have gone above and beyond to make sure I understood what I needed to learn. When times got a little tough and my tank was running empty, the faculty was there to give me the pep talk I needed to stay focused and not burn out. When things came awry, the faculty made sure they did everything they could do to ensure I was successful. When it comes to the students, UTI Austin campus CARES. They have a food pantry if there is a student in need of food or help. I personally have seen them help a student find a roof over there head when they were homeless and sleeping out side. LITERALLY! They have had bake sales to help raise money for the food pantry. When it comes to the Veterans, boy I tell you, this school LOVES its veterans. Whether itās financial/student stuff, celebrating its vets or simply having a VETS lounge for us to hide when we are going through something at the moment, it really shows the level of care. Anytime I am asked about UTI/MMI, whether they are asking about the education experience, quality of school etc, I ALWAYS tell them, THIS IS THE SCHOOL TO GO TO! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the memories, laughs, experiences and education. Im so proud to have spent my G.I. Bill and time here with this organization. Thank you to the instructors for your dedication and commitment to seeing us succeed. Thank you to the faculty, from the LRC, front office and even the custodian lady who ALWAYS has a smile on her face, you guys made these 17 months the best school experience Iāv had. Thank you...

Coming in with no prior knowledge about cars, I was initially nervous, but the staff and instructors went above and beyond to help me succeed.
The Learning Resource Center was a lifesaver for me. Whenever I had issues with computers or needed extra assistance, they were always there to help. The instructors, especially Mr. Aziz, Mr. Simental, Mr. Q, and Mr. K, were phenomenal. They made complex material easy to understand, were patient with my questions, and genuinely cared about my progress. Their passion for teaching and expertise made a huge difference as I learned the fundamentals of automotive technology.
Bianca was another standout. She was incredibly kind and supportive, helping me with child care when I needed it. She greeted me every morning and wished me well at the end of each day, which made UTI feel like a second home.
