Contacted the Aventura SkyBar on Nov 12th after coming across its IG page and instantly fell in love with the venue. I had been searching for a venue to host my baby shower and called to inquire about booking Sat Jan 7. Called and spoke to Debbie and she quoted me a price that would include 5 hours of event time including tables and chairs. I accepted immediately and was told that Fiodella (her assistant) would reach out to me to handle the contract and details. I waited a few days but heard nothing back so I reached to Debbie again. She assured me that Fiodella was busy with another event and would reach the next day. Waited another two days and finally heard from Fiodella. We discussed the price and setup a date and time to see the venue in person. My assistant met with Fiodella to view the space and approved. With that we told Fiodella that we wanted to secure the venue for Jan 7 and move forward with the contract and deposit. Reached out the next week but was told that the person who executed the event contracts was on leave and would be returning soon. I waited a few days and called Fiodella again. She assured me again that the date Jan 7 was secured. She also referred me to an event planner. I moved forward with sending out invitations. Started planning the shower with the event planner in great detail! A week passed by and I still hadn’t heard anything from the Aventura SkyBar. I called and called and called with no response. FINALLY Fiodella… my only point of contact, picks up and says that she no longer works there…….at this point I am livid! 3 weeks out from my Baby Shower! She never even bothered to let me know or make arrangements for me to talk to another team member at SkyBar.
I am panicking now because I’ve already made deposits and purchased items for the baby shower.
I call the mainline but no response. Im finally able to reach someone via WhatsApp and explain my situation. I get a call and I am quoted double the amount! The woman goes on to say that both Fiodella and Debbie had been been fired from the company and that the original quote would not be honored. I was devastated. Invites had already been sent out and plans made and here I was back to square one. No venue! No understanding for my situation and the fact that my baby shower was 3 weeks out. She suggested a rooftop nearby which looked nothing like the original venue.I kindly declined and sent screenshots of multiple conversations with both Debbie and Fiodella to no avail!
Feeling defeated but hopefully I am able to find a venue in time.
