I’ve been a member for over and a year and I cannot speak highly enough about this gym and the community. Notch 8 has the best and most knowledgeable coaches I've ever experienced in a CrossFit gym. I've been a member of many gyms all across the country in the last 14years and these coaches are by far the best I've encountered.
They really support their community with monthly challenges, free community workouts, and other events to support local non-profits. They offer more open gym time than I've ever known a box to offer. They promote working on skills before/after classes and they sometimes program skill work into the workout hour. They also offer one-on-one personal training. If you've never done CrossFit, they'll do some one-on-one sessions with you to get you familiar with the moves and make certain your form is good.
They have classes geared towards all ages/fitness levels so your whole family can come! They also have classes or open gym all day long, so you can always get a workout in. The Legends and Burn classes are awesome! The facility is nice and they keep it clean! There's even a Lululemon store on-site.
I'd highly recommend checking out a free community workout on a Saturday or just emailing them to let them know you want to try a specific class. They'll definitely help you reach your fitness goals and you're sure to love...
Read moreI started attending classes here a couple of months ago and I could not be happier. Before this I did F3 (outdoor bootcamp workouts) for three years. Then I moved to Avon and tried to start my own F3, but it didn't take off. After losing all my energy and motivation and excitement during half a year of trying to make it work, I decided I might as well join a gym and go do boring gym stuff. I am pumped about how wrong I was. The people are awesome, very friendly and open. The coaches have the perfect blend of intense and supportive. The classes themselves are great. I've never really done free weights before and it turns out I love it. The equipment is in good condition and get updated all the time. When weight plates break they get replaced with new ones, and the broken ones get used to weigh down stationary equipment, or they go on the sled. There are also lots of interesting niche equipment that doesn't get used often, but when that kind of cross-training is needed, nothing else will do. In other news, in the last three months I lost a notch on my belt while also gaining 10...
Read moreI’ve been coming to Notch8 for almost a month, and I absolutely love it. I’m brand new to CrossFit, and the weight-bearing exercises, energy, and camaraderie are exactly what I hoped for. I take the Burn classes three times a week, and even in a short time I can feel myself getting stronger, especially in my knees and hips. I’m 51, had a hip replacement a year and a half ago, and have weak knee joints, and this style of training is making a noticeable difference.
Community is important to me, and Notch8 delivers. Everyone is welcoming and the coaches truly meet you where you are. Even long-time members step in to help or encourage you. It’s also a true CrossFit gym with athletes who are much further along in their journey. Many of them train hard, compete, and take on serious challenges, and hearing about what they’re working toward is incredibly motivating.
And the fun factor is real too. On Fridays they host margarita nights with electrolyte mocktails or cocktails.
This gym has support, community, great coaching, and workouts that genuinely make you stronger. I’m so...
