1 star is still too high. Worst store ever. I've been trying since the end of May to get a refrigerator delivered. First fridge arrived to their store damaged. So they order a second one......3 weeks later surprise, surprise, its damaged too. They offered a discount to reorder another fridge instead of me canceling and just going to Lowes. 3 weeks go by without any communication from anyone at the store. So I call and get told someone will look into and call me back. Well no one looked into it and no one called me back. I called back AGAIN to figure out where the fridge is...... Somehow no one ordered the 3rd fridge. I should have just went to Lowes at this point, but no they assured me it was getting ordered correctly and would be deliver by end of July. Well end of July comes and goes, still no call. So I call AGAIN, well fridge arrived but no one called to schedule the delivery. So now we are into August, I am told they are delivering the fridge on the 7th and will call me the morning of to give me my delivery window. 10 o clock rolls around and magically no call. So I call AGAIN, well, they overbooked their truck so it won't be getting delivered. My wife had taken the day off so she could be there so lovely waste of a day off. I give them once last chance to right their wrong. They offer me more of a discount and assure me it's being delivered on the 9th. 9th rolls around I'm expecting a call between 8:30-9.....Guess what NO CALL!!!! SO I call AGAIN, I've called so much when they answer they know it's me, I'm told it's on the truck should be delivered this afternoon. 2 o'clock hits and my wife lets me know there's a message on her phone that, you guessed it fridge was damaged and they can't deliver. At this point; 2+ months, 3 fridges, me being on a first name basis with the front desk I finally talk to a manager. Their solution well we can either reorder the fridge or refund me because they have nothing in stock. I could have dealt with the fridge being damaged, to a certain extent, but the sheer lack of communication and customer service is where I loose it. Read moreThis store is run very poorly. If you read about Home Depot culture/employee satisfaction it is par for the course. There are some very good employees (guy in tools, one in plumbing, and about 3 at the service desk). The rest seem to be using their time there as a social hour with each other and avoiding helping customers, unless there is a regional manager there (you can tell as you get asked almost every 2 mins if you need help, and the staffing levels are higher).
I spend way too much time and money here building a home about 20 mins away, so I feel that I have a pretty good read on the store. I am there about 2x a week, if not more, and my spend is tens of thousands. I would use Lowes but it is in Silverthorne and heavy loads over Vail Pass make me use this store. I do deal with other Home Depot's (Parker CO) a good bit, and they are definitely better. I've become so irritated with the Avon store I try and avoid Home Depot as much as possible, and use only when I have to (need something very heavy or quick).
The funny thing (kind of sad), is that I'm on a plane and the person next to me was telling me how terrible Home Depot was in CA and FL. It reminded me to write this review after yet another crappy experience at the Avon store yesterday.

Read moreNew Kitchen Appliances were needed. Finished the scope order on-line. Called to verify availability and delivery window. Was told it would be best to order through store. OK. All appliances (by model number) install kits, haul away options etc were given to sales person. Got two incorrect quotes; missing appliances, install kits that weren't needed etc. Eventually a different salesperson (Lori) got the quote right. Lots of coordination needed as I would have to fly in for the install. 4Nov - Installers showed up in their quoted window. Appliances were removed and related spaces cleaned prior to their arrival. Installers were good, conscientious and efficient. The water connections for the dishwasher were not completed (didn't have right plumbing adapter). They apologized and credited the DW install and the all of optional appliance removal and showed me the amended work order. 7Nov - Called HD three times (disconnections, misrouted calls, etc). Appliance sales finally called back. Said there was no record of install invoice amendments but would investigate and rectify. 12Nov - Called with same request. Service desk stated there was an IT issue but everything would be resolved in 24 hours. 14Nov - No change. No contact from HD. Disputed charge amount.
