*No refunds, even when item is broken. Lack of customer service. No one at store for opening hours.
I originally had good experiences shopping here and have found some great deals in the past. I hadn’t visited in a while but I follow their Facebook page and reached out to the owner with an offer for an ice maker. They accepted the offer and I replied that I would be there right when they opened. I drive out 30 minutes the next day and the door is locked, past opening time (10 AM). Another customer is waiting with me as well, but we had to resort to getting into our cars to wait instead of standing in the heat. While waiting, I reached out to the owner and asked what time they’d get there. They replied that they would get there before 11 and then reached back out at 11:15, an hour 15 minutes late, letting me know that they had arrived. I let the other customer know what she replied and later on went back to the store, picked up the machine, brought it back home to find out it didn’t work.
I tried everything and anything, read all the manuals, watched multiple videos, and eventually had to ask a knowledgeable friend to take a look at it. When opening it, we found that there were parts of the machine that had “burned,” due to some type of electrical issue. There was also tape stuffed inside the machine and didn’t look as if it was supposed to be there.
I messaged the owner, letting her know of the issues, and they replied that they do not take returns or refunds. I asked if they offer any type of store credit due to the machine being defective and I being out $100, and sent her photos of the damage. They read my message but did not reply.
I understand about store policies and am a really reasonable person, but being as this item was defective in the first place with no real way to test it at the store (ice machine takes 30+ minutes to being making ice), I find it to be unprofessional and lacking empathy to customers. Always look through bins with caution for potential sharp objects. You really have to dig through bins to find good items. Prices are reasonable but can be improved compared to other liquidation stores. Often, they have sales once items are not moving. I have found some big items up to 50% off retail stores. I showed up Saturday morning at 8 am and no one was at the store and was not open. I called the number on the card a women answered and told me she did not open until 10 am and wasn’t sure who told me 8 am to begin with.
