I’m a sucker for all things local and community. Coldwater is all that and more. This cooperative farm to table community. Which if you’re new to means local and fresh ingredients from the community. There is a garden directly in the back and what they don’t bring in from there is found in the community. It doesn’t look like much from outside, but it has a welcoming feel inside, plenty of sunlight and you are not only able to purchase healthy and affordable options you can also enjoy a great breakfast or lunch as I did today with the brioche French toast I enjoyed. You can purchase baked goods as well as local honey or bags of Piexoto coffee for home. I arrived early Saturday morning and was the only customer inside for about five minutes before quite a few others arrived. Service was a bit slow at first , but I quickly noticed it’s because they were busy not only baking, but making drinks as well as all the early morning fun. You can order online and pick up and they offer catering as well. So what you might now see in front of you they have a lot going on behind the scenes. I orders a cold brew of course and took a seat while my French toast was being made. When it was ready it was brought out or me and I was thanked for coming in. It was perfectly cooked and looked so good. It was hot and syrup it came with yummy. The bread was easy to cut into and so fresh. It was a bit crispy on the outside from the grill but of so perfect and light in n the inside. It came with three decent size pieces and paired well with my drink. I do feel my drink has a bit too much heavy whipping cream and would’ve enjoyed to taste the coffee itself a bit more, but it was still good. I wish it was a bit closer so I could frequent a bit more, but I’ll definitely come back when in the area again. Prices were amazing and all I purchased came to about $10 before tip. We can’t let places like this fail. So many in the communities around us need access to healthy and...
Read moreA beautiful concept with a real hardworking team! We visited this place for some coffee and ended up eating sandwiches after hearing their farm to table story! Coldwater Coffeehouse has their own produce growing in the backyard and make some solid coffees too. Had we stayed back longer we’d have loved to come back for some desserts!
Anthony is the proud chef who is incredibly knowledgeable about cuisines, ingredients, and intends to expand the place so that it can match the niche needs of meeting halal/kosher and more. For now he has a limited menu but each one of the items we had were just wonderful!
We got some white mocha coffee and it was delicious. Definitely don’t miss out on this one. We also got their cold turkey cheese sandwich with fresh greens and wow! The bread was baked in house and the cheese and meat complimented each other so well we were forced to get another sandwich. The second sandwich we got was the ham sandwich, but substituted it with halal bacon. Trust me when I say this it was the best decision. The bread was slightly toasted, the meat was tender and crisp and the greens were just what you needed to make the sandwich spectacular!
If you are around Avondale definitely show the team some love and support! They are on to something incredible! Good luck! See you guys...
Read moreI’ve been desperately looking for a coffee shop near my home so I can get out of the house (my remote folks know what I mean)
I’ve been driving all the way downtown for weeks and one day my friend said she found this spot
Needless to say I was very excited when we tried this place out
A couple of things I love about this coffee shop is they have their own garden. You can actually purchase fresh produce like carrots, herbs, and different items
I’m a sucker for sourdough so when I saw the chef put our fresh baked sourdough I quickly grabbed 2 of them. I made avocado toast this morning with the sourdough and it was divine
I ordered a caramel latte layered and it was beautiful (yes coffee can be beautiful)
I ordered an egg, cheese and bacon bollo I thought bollo meant bowl but it’s actually bread The dosh was piping hot and it’s stuffed bread
I’ve never seen anything like this before and it was amazing
The chef asked if we wanted some house salsa but due to our inability to handle spice we declined
He then made us fresh house salsa with baby kick for our punk spice palette
Everything was delicious and you can tell the owners have a lot of pride in what they’ve built
They are family oriented as aunts, uncles, cousins and even abuelita stopped in for treats
I’ll definitely...
