Took my family heirloom vintage watch to be repaired after inquiring whether they could handle the repair. Was told yes. Then they said they would send it out and it would be about 3 weeks. More than 6 weeks later, I got my watch back, after finding out they had worked on it in house. Within an hour of leaving the store, it was losing time, so I took it back. Months went by. Finally, I got a call that it was ready. The watch stopped after 4 hours of wear. So I'm out more than $300 and have a non-operating watch. I'll have to send it to the manufacturer.
