Belk — Local services in Bainbridge

As usual for Belks, there was insufficient sales staff to cover the entire store. When you have to go to the shoe dept to ask for assistance in purchasing a $300 suit in the men's department, something is sorely lacking! The selection of men's dress suits was extremely limited. There's just not much to choose from other than the same plain blue and gray that is standard stock for Belks. After choosing a sports coat, slacks, and belt, I ended up in the cosmetics department to find a sales clerk to check me out who at the time had 4 customers waiting in line to check out and 1 customer attempting to purchase cosmetics. The only reason I gave 4 stars was the attitude and personality and winning smile of the sales clerk. In her attempt to juggle 5 customers. She maintained a positive attitude in a very trying situation. She treated each customer with respect and complete professionalism. She never lost her smile. Never had a horrific experience in my 51 years till today! 12/28/24 3:30 pm for the ones that actually look at the cameras that record everything! And yes I recorded it all also! BELKS, DO BETTER!!! You Need better Trained and Respectful cashier Associates in the Womens Dept. and to monitor the fitting room. Children allowed to run and play in the only rooms available (3) and one is the handicap room that was being used as a play room and NONE of the Associates would do anything about it and with rolled eyes, REFUSED to open one of the others so regular and paying customers could try on a few items! I had to ask the cashier in cosmetics was anyone working in shoes. She pointed out 2 women of which I hadn't previously seen. The African American woman standing @ a distance hollering whata you need twice. I apologized and told her I was so sorry didn't know she worked there...she gave me a frown, bobbed her head around and rolled her eyes as if to say duh.
