Family Food Market — Local services in Bakersfield

I went into this store with a large group of people a few times. The items in the store were not marked and they charged different prices for the same product to different customers. The top Ramen soups were 75 cents each, (normally 20 cents) which maybe the price; for men at Jason's retreat . Yet the sodas were clearly tagged 99 cents yet charged 2.19 and another customer the next day buying the same item was charged $1.08 . I just felt there was no transparency in pricing. I would have spent a lot more money in the store and went back more often if there was. I love supporting our local businesses. I pray the owner reads this review and properly mark the items to avoid customers feeling this way.

Went to buy produce because it was the nearest market. Limes had a price of 5 for a dollar. When I got to the register the lady charged me .25 each. I said limes are 5 for $1 she said that's the wrong price they are 4 for a dollar. I said that sign says 5 for a dollar. She said I'll change it right now. Look I was buying for my senior citizen mother. Seems like they are robbing the poor in that neighbor hood. I work in a grocery store myself. We always honor prices on shelves. Just a low budget market. Good for a quick shop when you need something basic. Nothing special. Nothing awful. Low prices for rather low quality things. However, this place has delicious $3.50 chicken nuggets that are delicious and worth the trip. Especially if you have a picky child and are staying in a hotel with a microwave.
