Unless we went into another restaurant by mistake. It's not called Golden cabin. It's called CASA MARIACHI. As soon as you enter, the place felt welcoming with the tables set up celebrating Mother's Day with a Ballon on each table. For starters the chips and salsa are homemade and the flavor was AMAZINGLY delicious. My wife ordered green CHILAQUILES that she enjoyed very much with two over easy eggs, refried beans and rice (I kinda helped her with the rice because I like rice alot). I ordered beef birrria. It had plenty of meat and the plate was big enough that I couldn't finish it. Anytime we are back in the area of Bakersfield we'll come back and try something else.

The Golden Cabin Mexican Restaurant is under new ownership and they have got all the elements just right: rood, drinks, atmosphere, staff and location. The atmosphere is very cozy: dim lighting, low background noise, hanging stained glass lamp. The food ishes are incredibly delicious. They don't taste like they have a bunch of salt and fat. The guacamole is made fresh. The restaurant features regular and vegetarian options. There is plenty of parking in the buildings parking lot. The staff is incredibly nice, and can answer any menu questions you may have. I highly recommend this family owned business.

Golden Cabin is very clean. My go to food is a combination plate of taco, enchilada. The enchilada sauce is delicious red (colorado). It is not the tomato red sauce I dislike. Sorry no picture, i was hungry :-) My husband got the Carnita Torta, he loved it! Said he would order it again. He said the bread was so soft, it melted in his mouth, not too bready. BTW, we live an hour out of Bakersfield, we will be regular visitors when we drive in again.

Been going here since 1987. The wait staff has always been wonderful! That is the 4 star. The food was okay at best this last visit. I could tell the waitress saw the look on our face when our food came out. She charged us happy hour price although it was not happy hour. Thank you. I get that prices are high due to inflation. But the food was just not up to the standard of what I have come to expect from this place. I Was a little turned off by the new owners. The waitress had plates in her hands and the two owners had her blocked in behind the counter where she couldn’t get past them. So they are chatting her up over our plates of food getting cold. For an extended period of time. lol. It seemed almost comical. Seemed like they were more interested in chatting up the waitresses than the customers getting great service. I observed this behavour continuing during our meal. I wouldn’t want the owners of any establishment I work at preventing me from providing excellent service. Made me feel uncomfortable for the waitresses as I could tell they were trying to do their job and not be rude to their boss. Anyway. We discovered Camino Real on Stine and are never going back to this place. The waitresses should go over to Camino. The staff looks very happy and I bet they would get great tips...

It was a cute place, very decorated and welcoming. The staff however was very rude. My mother ordered chicken fajitas (her usual favorite dish to get when going to a Mexican restaurant) and she didn’t like them whatsoever. There was no seasoning, the fajitas contained broccoli, and the chicken was fatty and rounded as if from a frozen bag. She politely asked for her dish to be swapped. They argued and told her the chicken was fresh and attempted to charge her for both dishes. We hardly ever come out to eat and were excited to celebrate an event we just came from but the staff completely ruined our experience. It took an argument to not have to pay for the food we barely touched. By the way, it only took $6 off, not even the price of the meal. Overall horrible experience I highly don’t recommend this place. I usually support of small local businesses but the rudeness of the staff and the “mid” food served here are not...

This place has recently changed owners and first that was it. I’ve noticed that the food taste and quality has remained the same. I can deal with a few cosmetic changes but not staffing changes. Yesterday we went to have breakfast. Normally, our drink order is taken, then chips and salsa and then not too long after our order is taken. I noticed there were only two waitresses and the owner serving dishes to the tables. This is fine but when the employees are visibly being over worked and the owner is not the smoothest server. This is not ok. When he delivered my toast and piece came flying off the plate onto the table. I’m not to picky about service but my thing is you have great waitresses and they do their job well. Don’t get in the way. It will start to make people uncomfortable and make it seem like you don’t know what you’re doing. We love this place, please don’t...
