I got completely ripped off selling my college books to this establishment, very unhappy about it. My sister told me about this place to sell books so I checked it out with her, I live out of town so I wanted to see how much I was going to get back. These books were also in great condition not used or barely even used, so I asked one of the workers to see how much I would be getting and she told me for sure I would be getting around $22-$23 for half of my books and the rest is depending on the weight. The reason I let them KEEP THE BOOKS is because of what SHE TOLD ME, she didn't say it was a quote or anything, I asked her again, if it's a for sure thing, she said yes, and mind you, my sister was also there so she HEARD her say it. They had this 2 week period before they can send you money, which I did via Venmo, and I woke up to find out I only got $9 back, which completely upset me because I was told a different amount. I ended up calling them back, they said that the workers can't give an exact amount (apparently she did) only a quote, and there is nothing to do about it. I told him specifically the reason I left those books there is because of the amount she told me I'd be getting back, plus the other half based on weight. And he said he couldn't do nothing about it because the books would already been dispersed or donated somewhere, and I'm just in disbelief, I feel completely ripped off and stolen from, because now I can't get my books back and possibly could've have gotten a better price somewhere if she didn't give me misinformation, I'm never coming back to this bookstore.
UPDATE: They ended up calling me back and apologizing on their end about the whole situation about the miscommunication, they ended up sending me what I was told I was going to get, and plus the associate that helped me was polite and delivered good customer service. I honestly still thought whoever I spoke to about this situation before I posted the prior review was a little rude and did not apologize once. On the other hand, I appreciate that they called back to get this situation sorted,...
Read moreSuch a cute little store! It's a nice change of pace from Barnes & Noble while still finding good titles. The vinyl selection isn't the greatest (I have better luck at going underground or thrift stores) but the prices are great and there are some gems in the 45 section and the listening area is very well kept. They have a ton of comic books (didn't flip through them). There's a cute little DIY coffee bar for 50 cents! This place is quiet, and way bigger than the building leads on. The DVD prices are pretty fair for the used stuff. There are very few Blu Ray options and only found one steel book. The TV selection has a lot of popular stuff like Friends, Once Upon A Time, Mad Men, etc. They have manga, audiobooks, and some more sought after items in the front. We did sell some stuff there too the only weird thing was that they weighed it which I didn't understand considering we had some pretty popular items. All in all a great experience and will...
Read moreSeriously, the BEST used book store in town! I have only bought kids books here so my review might be a little biased. I've been coming here since my son was a few months old. He's 3 now. I've bought well over 100 childrens books here.
Books are VERY affordable at Bookhounds. Every book i've looked at here were in great condition. They have a VERY large selection. Very organized. Super easy to find a certain title/author/genre.
They recently added a sale shelf in various areas of the store. I of course LOVE the kids sale shelf. Books are only 50cents on this shelf!! I've found some great titles in it as well.
My son gets super excited when we pull up here because he's an avid bookworm. Definitely recommend book lovers, big or small, to visit Bookhounds!!! Grab a coffee from the coffee bar & lose yourself...
