I LOVE Baltimore Spirits Company. Their spirits are interesting and delicious.
If youâre a mezcal fan, they the fumus. Distilled from apples, itâs smokey and complex, perfect for sipping or mixing in a cocktail.
They specialize in Maryland Rye whiskey and do it beautifully. The Epoch is amazing, and if you want a real treat, try a Post EpochâEpoch that spends more time resting in different barrels with fantastic effects.
I just did their whiskey blending tour and it was educational, interesting, and a lot of fun. In addition to a tour of the distillery, we were able to taste 4 versions of the Epoch ryes and then decide how we would like to blend them. At the end of the tour, we went home with our own blends in 375ml bottles.
Because I obviously canât stop singing their praises, I have to add, if you havenât visited their new cocktail lounge/tasting room, you must! Itâs beautiful and the folks there, including the wonderful Whitney, are the best.
Baltimore Spirits is a real gem in the city. Itâs a creative and top notch distillery and we are lucky to...
Read moreThe tour was amazingâhuge thanks to Greg for patiently answering the million questions we had! I really appreciated his honesty when he didnât have an answer. What made this tour exceptional was how personalized it felt; it was essentially a private experience tailored to what we wanted to learn.
I believe Nick was the bartender, and both Greg and Nick were fantastic. My partner, who enjoys whiskey, loved the tasting and couldnât wait to bring home his personal blends.
As someone who is a visual learner and not very familiar with different grains in their natural form, I think incorporating visual aids could enhance the experience. For example, showing how BSC receives the rye and what it looks like after itâs ground would be helpful. Greg kindly managed to scrape up some particles to show us, but having a small bowl of grains for guests to see and touch could add an engaging and interactive element...
Read moreWe loved our experience here! The first half of the experience consisted of a complimentary whiskey and ginger beer cocktail as people arrived, a history lesson on whiskey and the establishment, and a very detailed and knowledgeable tour of where and how they make their whiskey. Upon return to the tasting room, we had four tastings of 100 proof whiskey waiting for us, along with a little label to indicate what blend of the whiskeys we wanted to create our own custom-made 375ml bottle. The event coordinators went around to each table as we went through our tastings to answer any questions. The whiskeys were great, and we stayed for about 2 hours total. Would definitely say itâs worth the price, and we would recommend...
