The store is very clean! I was looking for a cooking knife set for my kitchen. Found a really nice set. However, the box was damaged on the bottom. I took the set up to the register & asked if they had another one in back. It was the only set, like that, on the shelf. None in the stock room. The ladies at the registers were great in helping me. The lady made sure that everything was in the box. Everything was there. The other lady said that she was going to call for the manager. Ok, I waited. Plus, I had to go back to the aisle that I left the other stuff I was buying. The manager came & said "What seems to be the problem?" "The box is damaged" I informed her asif she didn't notice. "Well, you don't use the box!" She said in a snide remark. At that point, I was veeeerrrrrryy upset. She had no idea if I was going to give it to someone. I wasn't, but I don't like damaged boxes either!!! She started to tape the box up. Mind u, it had a hole in the bottom of the box. I told her "I think I will go to another Biglots. Thank you for your time!" Hopefully she managed to return the items that I was going to buy back to the shelves because she can't manage CUSTOMER...
Read moreI would have given it a 5 but I chose not to. I myself as a Supervisor knows what it’s like to have to get things done with the employees. I was still shopping over by the checkout area and over heard the manager/supervisor talking pretty loud to the cashier saying oh you had 189 that day and out of those 189 you only had 2 people you signed up for the rewards you need to be at least a 13% that’s part of you being a cashier how are you asking them when they checkout . What you should have said to him was how can I help you achieve your goal let me show you some ways you can get to your goal. You should have waited til said cashier was on break or done for the day. When I went to checkout said cashier was pretty upset I just said don’t worry I am already a member. That said manger/supervisor set a very said cashier in a upset mood and discouraged outlook at being at work that day. So next time I go in I’ll see if it improved if not this will...
Read moreAbsolutely recommend this store to everyone looking to shop on a budget. The customer service here is usually spot-on, and their selection is exuberant for a cheaper selection store. This is one of the few places where price does not seem to affect quality. however, the one downside for me is that they just recently got rid of their baby section, as a father of a 10 month old this text the likelihood of me visiting the store down to 50%. In fact, the only reason I rated it four stars was because they got rid of the baby section. I suppose this doesn't really reflect an issue with the store itself rather, the company for dropping the baby aisle. This particular store in Barberton has no issues.
