Where do I begin... hum, the beginning. 1 — carts are gross. 2 — item I was looking for was not in the isle it should have been (breakfast bars were in the cookie/candy isle) - probably due to the store reorganizing everything with no one available to direct you to where items have been moved or updating of the isle signs to designate where items are newly located. 3 — Being that it was 4:30pm, there were only 2 cashiers. Lines were down the isles. It was 10 minutes before the cashiers called for additional cashiers. There were, as usual, no baggers. I have been going to this store (out of convenience) for a year and have had to bag my own groceries 80% of the time. 4 — when checking out, the few cashiers and even fewer baggers consistently discuss about how tired or bored they are and at what time they get off work 5 — when paying for my groceries and selecting to receive cash, the cashiers typically only have 5’s and/or don’t have enough cash in the drawer therefore causing me to have to go wait in line at “customer service” to get my cash.
Needless to say, checking out at this grocery store is very time consuming and extremely frustrating. I live in Northlake and, with being convenient, I have been shopping at this store. Today’s experience put the nail in the coffin. I’m done shopping here. I will be shopping elsewhere. This is typical of Kroger everywhere. I have lived in 5 different states and shopped at Public’s, Harris Teeter, Tom Thumb, Walmart, Target, Sprouts, and Ukrops. Kroger has been, by far, the...
Read moreFirst of all there's never enough lines open. I don't do self checkout. Secondly, the Starbucks is dirty. The glass window between customer and worker is filthy and tables are not being wiped. Trash was so full I couldn't even push my coffee cup down into it. I tell the two girls that the trash is full and they were both on their cell.phones! They said "ok" when I told them about the trash. I proceeded to use the bathroom (not filthy, but needs some fixing of broken things). I came out from bathroom and the girls are STILL on their cell phones. When I was a teen we didn't have cell phones,, but those who were not good workers stood around and chatted. So it's just a bad work ethic (not the phones). There was plenty of cleaning those girls could be doing. I told customer service and I don't know if he did anything.
At checkout a young man came over and literally stood there watching a customer bag her own groceries! He stepped aside so she could bag them! Seriously? He just stood there for five minutes and watched her bag. He bagged mine, but so slowly he was getting the next cisterns stuff mixed up with mine!
Conveyor belts are always filthy too.
The issue is that these workers are not being trained and managed well. Aldi's and WinCo are winning me over since I have to bag my own stuff and frankly every Aldi's is much cleaner than Kroger and the workers work fast! And produce is generally fresher...
Read moreFirst time at Kroger, most likely last time. Trying to find a product for 10 minutes and no one was around except a cashier and a bagger. The bagger who was a dirt blonde, white old looking lady named Katie was too busy yapping to a customer friend when I asked her for help, she just turned to me with an annoyed expression... No hi or how can I help you... I showed her a picture on the Kroger website and she said "I don't know, should be an aisle there or something... Go find it over there", rolled her eyes and left me alone. Thanks for a rude experience, I guess?? Sorry to intrude on your talk with your friend. Maybe watch some more customer training videos so you can actually treat them nicer instead of playing favorites!
Best part was that she seemed very happy when helping other Caucasian folks! I was in self check out she said "thank you, have a good night!" To a group of teenaged Caucasian boys and nothing to me when I was done. Maybe this tells you that she has a bias towards her own skin color!!
Shout out to the lovely gentleman who ACTUALLY helped me trying to find the product. Funny enough when I flagged him down, the product was right next to us at a standalone pop up shelf no where NEAR where the aisle is suppose to be, but he still made an effort trying to find more flavors in other aisles! Katie should learn from him about...
