ALDI — Local services in Batesville

I have been soooo excited about having an ALDI joining our Batesville community! Although I have never shopped with ALDI before, simply due to lack of opportunity, I have heard amazing things about the quality & price of their products. This store is laid out nicely. Ample space for consumers with shopping carts to move around each other. I was really stoked about having access to more plant-based options, and while I did find a few items from their Earth Grown brand, it did not quite live up to my anticipation... I was really hoping to find everything I wanted, plant-based, in order to be able to avoid our WM altogether. I will return to ALDI, when I have more time to really deep-dive browse the shelves. I can say that I think this market is a perfect quick-trip for a few necessities. It doesn't yet fit my needs for a whole grocery trip. The produce was beautiful & affordable. I don't eat meat, but the meat market appeared nicely arranged & of fresh quality. Their almond milk is less costly than any local competitor. I also found maple syrup for $5.99!... also cheaper than any other local competitor. There were several varieties of plant-based, dairy-free frozen sweet treats. Also found a soy burger & Italian non-meatballs for cheaper than any local competitor-- I will update on taste & quality, after I have had an opportunity to try them. I have a 5lb therapy alert dog due to my heart, which I was carrying into aldis. Right inside the door, A male employee said we could not bring it in. My daughter told me to go outside with the dog and she would do shopping. I went to grab my purse and the employee started yelling about having an animal in the store. My daughter told him that it is registered alert dog, and he said he had a service dog and they are never registered. She told him that alert dogs are registered when they pass their training. He started yelling and shaking. My daughter told him we were not arguing and we taking the dog out. He continued yelling about him not arguing either. As we left the store 2 other customers left and said they will not be returning and that his aggressive shaking made them feel unsafe. We will not be returning either due to his aggression. I have contacted the police department and was told they have already had several complaints of aggression from this employee. My family loves Aldi, and their brand of foods are amazing. I can go here and buy two or three times the amount of food compared to most stores. My kids have always preferred their brand and are so excited to have them more often since we don't have to drive so far out of the way anymore for our family favorites. The staff is super sweet and always willing to help. We LOVE LOVE LOVE this location so much!

FIRST TIME ALDI SHOPPERS : Remember to bring a quarter for the cart. Remember to bring reusable shopping bags. If you need you can buy some or use boxes they have placed around the store in large containers.
