Batesville Community Center and Aquatics — Local services in Batesville

Yesterday, I took my 2 girls and my grandson to the water park. We have been once before and had a good time but yesterday was exceptional!!! In all the craziness of the world, many places you are met with frowns and scowls. (Understandable). However, we were greeted with respect and courtesy. My kids ages are 11, 8, 7. Working with the public and kids can be challenging but I felt that the staff here wanted to be in their job. Since we had only been once before, my kids did not know all the rules. The lifeguards were very pleasant when having to instruct them. We adults even had to be educated and they did it in a respectful manner. They did not shy away from doing their job but did it in a manner that could be appreciated. The 7 year old had difficulty reaching the zip line so the lifeguards encouraged and patiently helped as much as they could in order for him to be able to grab the handles himself. One lifeguard in particular, who was dubbed their favorite, tried to teach them how to properly dive off the diving board. She encouraged them to do tricks and treated them as if she really enjoyed their presence. Kinley Long made their experience yesterday very comfortable and even educational. Took my son there yesterday so he could play some bball with some friends tht showed up. While he was playin ball, me and my other son went and looked around, ( it was my first time there ). Very nice workers there and very knowledgeable about the facility and pricing and packages they offer. I was very impressed with the building and everything they offered. They allowed me to walk around and look at the facility and got to c the pool area which looked very inviting. Their prices for monthly fees and annual fees was reasonable priced and they even offer bank drafting as well or can pay n person. All n all, I will b going bk and checking out the pool area soon. As I said, it looked like fun.

The only thing I would recommend would b for them to have some kind of seating n the basketball area so someone could sit and watch everyone play opposed to having to sit on the floor. It wasn't very easy or comfortable having to sit on the floor as it is hard for me to try and get up off the floor and would b more comfortable...

My family went to this pool for the very first time. An hour before closing my son got a piece of wire stuck in his foot from the zipline. I was told by another family that their child also got a piece of wire stuck in his foot, that family went and told a life guard. Life guard never told the manager what had happened. Because that life guard didn't tell the manager. My son got a piece of wire stuck deep in his foot. I asked the manager why they didn't shut down the zipline after the first family went and reported it. He told me that he was never informed. My family had an awesome time there until this happened. The city needs better training, once one person gets hurts they need to report it immediately to the manager so that manager can shut that part of the pool down and do a further investigation.
