Nissi the Nail Salon — Local services in Bayonne

So, I'm not someone who gets their nails done every 2-4 weeks religiously, but I decided to treat myself and I wanted to support a small local business. I saw pictures from the grand opening and had to give it a try. The interior is absolutely beautiful. There are about 8 pedicure chairs and 5-6 manicure tables. The staff are all very friendly and offer coffee, tea, or water. There are hundreds of colors to choose from, gel or regular polish. I decided to get a gel as I work in a hospital and regular polish just doesn't last very long. The gel manicure is $30. You get the usual manicure, but with an exfoliating hand scrub followed by a hot towel. The place is very clean.

Now, accidents happen. I got home and later on a nail chipped. I called and they scheduled me to come in after my shift next day. These things happen, I wasnt terribly upset as they were so willing to fix the problem. When I arrived today, I was greeted so warmly and the owner offered to redo the entire manicure. I am giving them 5 stars even with the accident because they fixed it with zero complaints and cleanliness and friendliness are important to me and this place is not lacking either.

I really wanted to like this place because a friend recommended it. My nail tech(Wendy) had very shaky hands, she used a machine to scrape my old gel but it kept getting caught on the edge of my nail. No towel was put down so nail shavings were everywhere. My nail shape is off because of the machine over filing it. I got a pedicure and the polish is a mess on the sides(no photo). She cut my skin and was very aggressive with the filing. I asked to change my shape from square to almond and she sighed like she didn’t want to do it. She rushed the whole process and if I didnt ask for a refile, she would’ve left it. Because she was rushing, the filing was very aggressive. I had to check if the nails were all the same shape/size myself… the nail polish is also too thick. I hate my nails and even the $5 tip I gave hurt me to give. Please don’t hire nail techs with very shaky hands and if you do please only let them do little kids hands. No one wants to pay $60 for a bad service… nothing I hate more than a bad trip to...

I had my horribly made by them acrylic nails, that always was detaching from my nails and after I asked to take it off, I never done manicure since then, over 2 months been gone. My nails is pink and I barely have a thin layer of a nails and it’s all wavy and as soon as it grows it just breaking, that’s how weak it is. The girl destroyed my nails with electric file when she was removing acrylics. I have never seen anything like this in my entire life. And when I showed that to them, they didn’t even understood that it’s not normal because I were polite and didn’t made the scandal that I should’ve made. It’s going to be 3 month already and my nails only half way grown healthy. Other half is just a disaster. I can’t even do anything to hide it, because they have to grow to become healthy back. So I am just hanging around...
