Wonderful staff many of which have been there for a decade or more. I find them to be friendly, motivated and always helpful. The Store Manager Monica is clearly part of the team because I see her doing hands on work with other employees in the store from time to time.
Overall in terms of value, selection and shopping experience the store is above average. The people are what make it worth shopping at vs the other stores in the area (ShopRite, Acme) both of which are larger and have broader selection. Acme is much more expensive and ShopRite is a nightmare in a high crime shopping center.
A run down: Bakery is small but high quality Deli is well above average in service and quality Produce is not the shining star in this store and could benefit from some better department management Seafood is above average Meats are for the most part pre-packaged (like everyone else nowadays), high quality and very good prices compared to the other stores. Center store selection is more limited than other stores but national brands and products are available. You won't find every single product that Nabisco makes but you will find the most popular. Specialty or gourmet brands are best found at the other stores Dairy is well managed and fresh. Health and Beauty, Pharmacy are about average with the exception of the staff which are excellent. Refrigerated / frozen foods are well organized and do have a wider selection than the...
Read moreI have consistently shopped here the past 2 years because it is always quite clean, has what I need & I feel most comfortable bringing my toddler into this store, but the amount of expired products here is astounding. You would think I'd have learned to check expiration dates, but with a toddler in tow, sometimes things just get thrown in the cart. I have come home with expired foods 8 times in the past year. 5 of these times were organic products, which have a longer shelf life than non organic foods, so I am appalled at how long these organic cheeses & milk products may have been sitting in store before surpassing the expiration date. My most recent purchase was horizon organic cheese, last night july 8th & it had a 'use by', not 'sell by' date of june 23. I'm not one to automatically believe an expiration date, but I instantly knew the cheese was bad after opening it, which led me to checking the date. Very disappointed that this keeps happening & it only makes me wonder how many other products I've purchased, but consumed because I wasn't paying attention. I take responsibility for purchasing the products without inspecting dates thoroughly, but it is a definite turn off to shopping in a store that does not keep up...
Read moreIve used this store for years and always loved the convenience of self checkout and being able to organize my bags in my cart as I checkout. They’ve recently changed their system so that every bag and item is weighed on the bagging area which has caused chaos during my last 3 visits for workers and patrons alike as the system repeatedly shuts down and requires a worker to override it if an item, even something that does not fit in the area like paper towels, is not placed in the bagging area. They’ve now also changed self checkout to 20 items or less and have been stopping and questioning every single patron if they have 20 items or less when they enter the area. On a Tuesday morning with an almost empty store, a woman who was behind me was redirected to the cashier area where she had to wait for about 5 minutes before a cashier even showed up to begin checking her out due to possibly having over 20 items. Overall, this new checkout experience has been a nightmare and I will be finding a new grocery to use that cares more about customers than the few dollars they are likely saving from...
