As someone who has harbored dreams of the wild west and cowboy adventures since childhood, my recent horseback riding experience with Furnace Creek Stables was nothing short of a dream come true. The folks at Furnace Creek Stables truly know how to make a cowboy—or cowgirl—feel at home. The authentic atmosphere of the stables, complete with weathered wooden fences and the scent of hay in the air, set the stage for an immersive and unforgettable experience. The staff exuded a genuine passion for the equine lifestyle, and their enthusiasm was contagious. The horses, sturdy and well-trained, were the perfect companions for my cowboy fantasy. Each one had its own unique personality, and I was paired with a magnificent steed named George. From the saddle, I could feel the power and spirit of my four-legged partner, making me truly believe I was riding the range in pursuit of a cattle drive. Trinity was a great host, second only to George, who provided an outstanding experience. I highly recommend Furnace Creek Stables for your Death...

We were lucky enough to be visiting Death Valley around the time of the full moon, so we booked the moonlight trail ride. What a wonderful, unique experience! Our guides were friendly and knowledgeable, our horses all had sweet dispositions (my horse, Rocket, was the "slowest rocket on earth"), and the nighttime trip onto the salt flats was simply magical. We had a little difficulty finding the stables with our phone's map app, but we called the stables and received excellent directions. From there, everything went perfectly smoothly. I had the feeling that the guides all really love and care about the horses. They also took care to ensure that all visitors were safe and comfortable, and they gave us clear instructions about what to do and what not to do, to ensure the safety of the horses as well. The trip lasted around an hour, which was a perfect length of time for us as inexperienced riders. I would absolutely recommend a trail ride with Furnace Creek Stables, and especially a moonlight ride if you happen to be there around...

We were on Ace and Junior with Matti as our guide for a 2-hour afternoon ride. The ride was perfect - experienced/friendly guide, beautiful vistas, pleasant breeze. We really appreciate at how the horses were healthy, well-fed, well-groomed and very responsive. Matti is a dedicated horsewoman and provided an excellent pre-ride riding lesson and safety briefing. My husband and I are avid and experienced riders, and everything she said was on point. Throughout the ride, Matti provided many interesting details about the history of Death Valley as a national park, it's mining and tourism history, details about the geologic and ecology (animals, reptiles, birds and plants). We highly commend the owner/management of Furnace Creek Stables for running an excellent stable and caring for the animals so well, and thank Matti for an...

My friend and I purchased a sunset ride. It was perfect as can be. Luke and Mattie were great guides, a great chat, and just pleasant people. It did not feel rushed. They take some pictures for you! The horses were well taken care of and needed very little correct so a novice (including myself) could feel very comfortable. Of course, there are no words for the majesty of being atop a horse in one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited—Death Valley! I rode Mary, who is a mule. Would recommend without a doubt, will be a patron next time I visit. Thank you!! FYI - It is located behind the Ranch Inn Resort! There is a small bathroom and helmets are provided.

We had an amazing ride with our guide, Luke. He was so friendly and knowledgeable, and great on a horse. We only did the one hour ride, but next time will do the 2 hour ride. The hour flew by. We rode Jake & Chester… Jake was a tall, beautiful Mule and he & Chester had great dispositions. I’m pretty sure I could have just dropped the reins and Jake would have just kept following the trail. Furnace Creek Stables are clean and well maintained and all the horses & mules are in beautiful, healthy condition. I highly recommend this activity when visiting Death Valley, the views of the landscape are spectacular. Thank you, Luke, for being a great guide!
