It had been a while since the last time I've been to Hoods. Was satisfied with the service I received then even more satisfied with the service I received now. Stopped in yesterday looking for this particular seeming tape I bought here years ago. A worker who I know now to be named Candice had just walked in the door with what looked to be her lunch . I know this because I walked in right behind her. I bring this up because she took her bags behind the counter but in the process spotted me looking bewildered. She left what she was doing and came to assist me. I explained the situation to her, she showed me what they have that was comparable to what I was looking for. She even took me to the counter and showed me a open roll of the tape so that I was able to examine it to see it was what I was liking for. Same product differing manufacturer. I bought a roll told Candice if it works I'll be back. Low and behold it worked. I came back, and even had the pleasure of being waited on by Candice again .I forgot to mention that the price was lower than what I expected to pay. Read moreThe good: the prices could be very good. I have purchased some fairly nice cabinets, etc for prices that are much lower than comparable products from local stores and national outlets. The good prices and sometimes nice products were the only reason to visit Hoods.
The bad: the service. I have never before been to a store and received so much consistently rude behavior from its employees. Some became angry for simply asking for assistance. I have been talked down to several times. It happened every time I called or went there. Every time. This is not an exaggeration. If I ever go there again and I am not treated like garbage, I will be ecstatic. I used to tolerate it because of the prices.
The last time I went there the prices weren't as competitive so it was no longer worth the abysmally awful rudeness. I doubt I will ever go again.
I am dumbfounded that a store with such rude employees can survive and that others experience good service there. Maybe all the times I've gone have been the wrong day. Anyway,...
Read moreI have ordered a few things from here now and gotten some high ticket items. The quality of what I have ordered has been great, but I just called up there to ask if something (a new front door) came in today as I was told it would be in today. The store is open til 7 PM. When the woman answered the phone, I gave my name and told her that I was told my door should be in from the store down south today. Her words, "Door shop's closed, you'll have to call back tomorrow." No, "let me check on that, ma'am", or "I'm sorry, let me get your phone number, and I will have someone check on that for you", or anything! So, apparently, other departments close and no other associate can assist. I am a huge advocate for customer service, and your product can be fantastic, but if you can't deliver good customer service and at least act like you want to help a customer and not just say, "You'll have to call back tomorrow", then in the future, I will take my...
