It is unfortunate that I have to give White Castle such a bad review. I ordered my food ahead of time to be ready at 530am because I had to report to work @ 6am and the location was en route. I arrived at 544am came thru the door that was open and was told they didn't open the inside until 6am. I was shooed out and had to go through the drive thru. Told the young lady thru the order screen I ordered online they had me pull around. I waiting for 30min. for my food. They allowed others to be served behind me and they told me they didn't start making my food until I arrived so that it could be fresh. I ordered online and paid ahead (117.00 food order)to have my food ready when I got there and they disrespected me from the time I showed up until the time I pulled off. I had to use an hour of sick time because I was 30 min late to work. WHAT IS THE POINT OF THE ORDER AND PAY AHEAD SYSTEM IF I STILL HAVE TO WAIT. I COULD HAVE JUST GOTTEN IN THE LINE IN THE FIRST PLACE. Also, why didn't the young lady either lock the door or put up a sign stated the dining room hours, and why ,after I told her my order was online, didn't she at least ask me what my order was so that she could have it prepared. After the ordeal was over, another associate asks me if I wanted to talk to the general manager because she was there too.🤣🤣So then the incompetence was not due to the absence of the leadership, it is just plain poor culture. I was livid thru the ordeal because my intention was to bring breakfast to my coworkers in celebration of my 10 year anniversary. I made white castle a part of that, but now I regret to the choice and question my relationship with the organization from this point. I hope this is not an indication of the...
Read moreThere’s very little reason to post this review because, let’s be real who’s looking at the reviews of a white castle anyway? But there’s something to be said about the lack of intelligence of certain people the workers of this particular location.
No again don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t expecting rocket scientists working behind the counter to create me three star Michelin quality dinner. But when I pulled up, I asked if I could get my cheese sliders with no onions or pickles. Not particularly fond of either, and they don’t sell it with my stomach.
I was worried when I was using the automated AI order taker, but it wouldn’t know what I was asking for. So when I pulled up to the window, I asked “could you please make sure there’s no onions or pickles on the sliders? I really just want them with ketchup and cheese if that’s OK“. Yeah, sure no problem.
When I received the bag at the window, I asked again “these are just cheese and ketchup, right? No Onions or pickles?” Yes sir, you’re good. At least she was polite
I get to moving and decide to just take a look under the bun and see what I’m working with and of course there’s onions and pickles. So I grudgingly removed the onions and pickles and ate my slider. Maybe it was a mistake. So I pick up the next one, same deal.
I thought maybe the first two were the issue, maybe the rest of the sliders were corrected and they just accidentally made a mistake with the first two and carried on. Nope it was like they decided to continue adding more and more pickles and onions for the sliders, the deeper in the bag I got.
I’ll stop Here. Just befuddled on how you can screw up an order so badly when the roadmap was laid out in front of you and reinforced...
Read moreA bit of let down for our first visit to White Castle.
Let me start off by saying that we're from Ontario (Canada) and there are no White Castle locations here. So when we found out that there was one near our hotel in St. Louis, we made it a priority to check it out, and see for our selves what the fuss was all about (Harold and Kumar, anyone?)
The restaurant itself was well lit and clean, and staff was friendly and attentive, and they helped us "newbies" decide on our order.
We ordered several of their specials, and we added bacon to the sandwiches (because after all, we're Canadian! ... LOL). Their burgers are actually small sliders which we knew, but we were surprised at how little meat you get. The meat patty was probably only around 1/8" thick, so the flavor got lost inside the thick and soft bun. We were grateful for the bacon, which added more meat flavor to the slider.
Don't get me wrong, the sliders weren't bad tasting, just different from what we expected. We have to admit that the accompanying fries and onion rings were actually pretty good for a fast food joint.
We'll visit another White Castle again, maybe try some of their other offerings, on our future trips south...
