Big L Chop Suey — Restaurant in Bel-Ridge

Omg, I went to the Big L Chop Suey Chinese restaurant on Natural Bridge Rd and 170 this past Sunday August 14th, 2022 around 2:30 pm and got an order of special egg foo young. I had been hearing rave reviews about it so I had to try it. I spent over $10.00 on my food. Stopped at that family dollar in the same strip mall and got a load of bread and placed on w of the patties on bread and tired it. Omg, it was horrible!! It tasted spoiled and I noticed as I was taking it out of the bag it smelled funny I thought oh well, couldn’t be nothing. My son had some too and we ended up throwing it out of the window and tossing the rest into the trash! How could they serve that kind of food in our community to our people??? Only pretty much black people eat there. And I wish our people would quit eating at places like that. We live in Jefferson City and the only time we can stop by is when we're in St. Louis...but it's a must do. Very humble, pretty quiet except for the cashier yelling out orders to the cooks in back. As soon as you walk in, it smells wonderfully legit, not greasy or off. I knew when we moved to Missouri from SoCal, it would be hard to find good Chinese, but this is THE best version of Americanized Chinese food in St. Louis. It is tasty, not overly salty and they are generous w/the portions. The 'brown' version of the fried rice is A+++, the egg foo young is simply the best I've ever eaten in the Midwest and the Braised boneless chicken or chicken wing apps are totally deelish!! The food is dependably good. Rarely disappoints. What bothers me is their refusal to prepare the food ordered through Beyond Menu until I come to the restaurant, stand in (a long!) line and pay for the order. What's the point of accepting online ordering if you're not going to cook my food and have it ready when the app says it will be ready? My last order wasn't received until 40 minutes AFTER the app said it would be ready for pick-up—because I had to stand in their long line just to pay. The food is good, but it's not good enough to wait for over an hour from time of order to time of take-out. Especially when 40 minutes of that time is spent waiting in line/waiting for food. Too...
