I recently had the displeasure of visiting Metropolis Comics, and I must say it was a profoundly disturbing experience. The establishment exhibited an alarming level of what it seems like racism, both in their treatment of employees and their unprofessional behavior towards customers. It is with great disappointment that I write this review to express my strong disapproval and vow never to return to this establishment.

When I visited I heard them address their former employee as looking like Miles Morales and complain about her. This kind of behavior demonstrates a complete lack of respect for the dignity and individuality of their staff.

Furthermore, I overheard employees engaging in derogatory discussions about former colleagues in the presence of customers. This unprofessional conduct creates an uncomfortable and toxic atmosphere within the store. Customers should be able to shop in a space free from such negativity, and it is completely unacceptable for employees to disparage former coworkers in front of patrons. This lack of discretion speaks volumes about the overall culture and values of Metropolis Comics.

As someone who strongly believes in equality, respect, and inclusivity, I cannot in good conscience support a business that exhibits such overt racism and unprofessional behavior. It is disheartening to witness this level of discrimination in a supposedly diverse and progressive society. I firmly believe that no individual should be subjected to such treatment, be it employees or customers.

I urge everyone to think twice before coming to Metropolis Comic. The racist behavior displayed towards former employees, referring to them as looking like “Miles Morales” based on skin color, and the inappropriate discussions about former colleagues are entirely unacceptable. I will certainly not be shopping her no longer again, and I encourage others...

This may not be fair cause it happen a few years ago and hopefully they've done a better job now, but here's my experience with this store. Myself and my 3 boys were going there for roughly 3 years and had a large pull list going. We would pick up our books weekly and spend anywhere between $60-$80 a week at the store. Well, we ended up taking a vacation for a couple of weeks and I received a call from the owner telling me the books were stacking up, told him no worries we were on vacation and we would swing by as soon as we returned. Now this was on a Wed that he called me, we were at the store on Saturday to pick up the books, and to our surprise, the owner said we took to long and had to return the books to the shelves. I would get it if we were just starting there an he was concerned about that inventory just sitting in the pull boxes, but we had gone there weekly for 3 years!!! The owner didn't even care that we were unhappy with what he did and turn he's back to us and continued doing what he was doing! It's been 2 years now, and 2 of my 3 boys until this day don't care to get back into collecting comic. Thanks a ton...

This was by far the dirtiest store I’ve been in. I browsed through the bins of comics & my hands came away black as if I had been handling newspapers for hours. Only half the bins in the store are actually for sale so don’t touch any of the bins on the lower shelves. I went to check out a “Full Set” & was reprimanded for removing a piece of tape to see what covers were in the stack. Be cautious of their “Full Sets” as they were missing one issue, so check your facts prior to purchasing anything notated as complete or limited print. The female in the store who called herself Luna became snippy when I made comment about the set missing an issue & said “These are MY things”. At this point me & my friend headed to the counter with Luna followed us & my friend told “Michael” behind the counter that we no longer want these. Michel asked what was wrong as Luna raised her voice & said you can leave! As I set the items on the counter & began to walk out, Luna continued to berate us. This is a small time shop that plays at being a Comic Book Store. Overall poor customer service in an unclean...

Unprofessional. Rude. The customer service representative who identifies as “Luna” will not go very far in life with her poor attitude and overall lack of knowledge especially in this industry. Beware of comic book sets that are taped together as the sets in this store are sold INCOMPLETE. My friend and I (who dabble in the industry) were blown away by how unprofessional and dirty the store was. The male who identified as Michael could most likely benefit from training his staff to A: know how to answer the phone professionally, B: train staff to speak coherently to clients and C: if staff has a personal opinion- never refer to items for sale in the store as “they are mine”. Very poor experience and over all, I stick behind the label given WITCH. Also, if a customer places items on the counter and advises they will not be purchasing, do not follow clients outside to yell at them. Buyer BEWARE.
