Kikyo Sushi — Restaurant in Bellflower

Kikyo Sushi Sake Bar has been a familiar spot for my family, and we used to visit at least 2-3 times a month. The restaurant offers a large array of dishes and the prices are quite reasonable. Tina, the owner, always greets us warmly and goes the extra mile to ensure our satisfaction, which has contributed to the positive experiences we've had in the past.

However, our most recent visit on June 16th was an unfortunate one. Our server that day, Connie, displayed an uncharacteristic level of rudeness that left us feeling disheartened and never wanting to return. Despite being loyal customers, we were treated poorly.

The incident occurred when we ordered vegetables for our kids, but instead, a fried tempura dish intended for another table was mistakenly brought to us. Assuming it was the vegetables we had requested, we began eating it. Shortly after, Connie removed the dish and aggressively pointed at my 6-year-old daughter, accusing her of eating someone else's food. This kind of behavior was completely uncalled for and unacceptable, leaving us feeling humiliated and uncomfortable.

In response, we expressed our concerns to the two new male servers who were working that evening. To their credit, they were genuinely apologetic and tried to rectify the situation. However, the damage had been done, and the unpleasant encounter with Connie overshadowed the rest of the dining experience.

We sincerely hope that the management takes our feedback seriously and addresses the situation appropriately. Unless there are measures taken to rectify this issue, my family and I will be exploring other dining options for our...

Food is always great here but the service is so horrific!!!!! First they have a sign that say but two get one free of any roll. When I called to place my order the girl said it had to be a fresh, baked, or tempura roll which I ordered a tempura roll and two fresh roll. Then she puts some guy on the phone he is trying to say the same thing so we just said we will take what we have thanks and he said okay hung up the phone didn’t get my number or name. So I walk in and he didn’t put my order through he barely spoke English and I guess didn’t hear me. So I saw the sign and it says nothing about the deal being only dine in. He said the deal was only for dine in but the sign doesn’t say that so he processed to lie to me for the second time. Then he starts telling my husband that he is getting blamed for everything like a child and when my husband goes to apologize he starts smirking at him. We love the chiefs soooooo much and the food we come here a lot and drive all the way from Huntington Beach just for this sushi but the service we have gotten here by untrained staff majority of the time makes us feel like we should stop coming here the only thing stopping us is the food...

Fabulous food. Extraordinary service. My spouse loves sushi. I’m not a sushi guy but I love chicken or steak teriyaki and other Japanese dishes. I was looking for a new place that had amazing sushi and hopefully good other options. I saw this place on Google maps and it had great reviews so decided to give it a try for my spouse’s birthday. It did not disappoint! EVERYTHING was amazing! My spouse said it was some of the best sushi he’s ever had. We both loved the delicious cucumber salad. I got the bento box and everything in there - salad, rice, teriyaki chicken, tempura veggies & shrimp, and California rolls were all A+! Besides all the super delicious food, the service was top class. They were short staffed and had only one server who was such a sweet lady. In spite of how busy she was she delivered great service. I happen to mention that we came for my spouse’s birthday and next thing I know she’s bringing out mochi ice cream and a candle and even singing happy birthday with me.
