Today I saw magic happen and had an amazingly wonderful experience with 1PC. I am an old guy and I mean OLD enough to be scared to open my computer's case lest all the faeries and gnomes that make it work fly out and I never see my data again. One Sunday night my laptop - not as old as I am but antique in computer terms - stopped working. The faeries and gnomes were obviously on strike for some reason. The next day I phoned 1PC and spoke to the Office Manager, Casey Bromet, who offered to look my laptop over if I brought it in, so I did. First issue, I'm in a power wheelchair. That meant that to access their office, I needed to ride around to the back of the building where their loading door is at ground level. If you are in a manual wheelchair, you can do this but I don't recommend it. Heavy trucks have torn up what might have been pavement to some pretty dodgy gravel. Once I was inside 1PC's facility everyone was great and I had full access to all parts of the facility. At this point it's worth remembering that I'm an old guy. I am probably the first and only customer they've had with mobility issues. The whole staff appears to be people who were in diapers when AOL was the new, hot thing, none of whom have accessibility issues. Once Casey got me situated in his office, I handed over my laptop. He removed the non-functional battery pack, plugged in the AC power supply and, before turning the machine on, said, "It looks kind of dusty in there." He collected a device that looked like a tea pot that had a major spout deformity and my laptop, took them out onto the platform at their front entrance and began to work magic on the gnomes and faeries. The tea pot turned out to be an industrial strength blower. In less than five minutes of applying hurricane force winds to the residents of my laptop's innards, Casey came back inside, plugged in my laptop and it worked. It has continued to work since. His charges were more than reasonable. I left with a working laptop having had the best experience I've ever had with computer repair. IPC accepts and recycles old electronics. That's their primary business. Working magic seems to be a useful sideline but there aren't many other places that work magic at reasonable prices. I recommend 1PC to anyone in need of a...
Read moreGreat store, great staff. The fact this place exists is one of my favorite things about living in Bellingham.
Dropped off some e-waste here the other day. I had a great conversation with the technician running the collection. Super nice and polite, answered all of my nerdy questions and helped me figure out where to take the batteries that they couldn't accept.
Also made a retail purchase from them recently. I picked up a refurbished Dell PC for a side project that I am working on, and they sold it to me a really fair price. Very high quality work on the refurb. Again, I had questions that the staff were more than happy to help get answered. Went the extra mile with support. Not only does the computer run really well, they sold it to me with no bloat, no BS, and no shoddy work done on the internals. Such a clean build. I was very happy with the service. The whole experience eliminated any risk i usually have to take when buying a secondhand PC. Very professional all the way through, and the customer service was great.
I can't recommend 1PC enough. If you're a staff member reading this, you should be proud of the impact you've made....
Read moreI had an exceptionally positive experience at 1PC. I had a complicated problem and a small budget that needed a few computers and some enterprise grade equipment. 1PC helped me figure out what I needed and made recommendations after talking about the scalability of my project. I ended up getting a server and a few HP mini PCs at an affordable rate. I even got an APC UPS that I expected to be a chunk of my budget at a big box store. All of the machines were physically clean, removed of any stickers, grime, and dust. The HP clients were wiped and configured to work out of box with Windows, and were instantly usable. The server booted and was configurable, ready to have an OS applied and added to my network. I couldn't have asked for better quality merchandise. The customer service was some of the best I've had. They were frank about what they did and didn't have, eager to find a solution, and happy to answer any questions along the way.
TL:DR You get great computers at a fraction of the cost of new, and save good working machines from a landfill. Customer...
