This is my fair unbiased review from the experience I had. Acknowledging these facts will prepare you for what to expect. Went to Sliced on 10/13 at around 8pm. There were 3 tables seated in the whole restaurant with a couple people at the bar. It took them 13 minutes to take my order. While i was waiting, a server poured me water, and i asked if i can order a starter while i have her there. She told me “im not your waiter”. A different server came up to me and said “im so sorry for the wait, your server will be right with you”. A server wasnt right with me, infact that same girl came back 5 minutes later to take my order and become my server. I ordered mozzarella sticks, which were packaged frozen premade mozzarella sticks. They gave me a ramekin with a tiny amount of red sauce enough for about 2 of the frozen mozzarella sticks. I also ordered the oyster sliders, which was very salty. I didnt finish it. My girlfriend ordered a small pepperoni pizza and I ordered shrimp pasta. This is where I just gave up in having any kind of expectations. The pizza is a frozen pizza. Literally, no joke. You can see the cookie cutter circle marks around it. Its a perfect looking frozen pizza like i can get from the store. The pasta is handmade you can tell, but is not cooked good. Its under cooked and makes it really chewy and unpleasant. The shrimp still has its shelled tail on, so I have to cut that off before I eat my pasta. When I order pasta, I am not expecting prep work. Thats what the cooks are for. The overall flavor of the pasta was okay. Once I got my bill, I asked my server what happened in the beginning with her saying my server will be with me, and then her becoming my server. She told me she was expecting to go home and then I came in and now she has to stay. My bill was $77, not including the tip. 2 appetizers, a small pizza, pasta, and 2 drinks. If i was anywhere else, that price would seem fair. But i feel cheated. The food is literally frozen food heated up! If i wanted to eat this i wouldve gone to Chuck E.Cheese. At least there the giant rat mascot would give me better service with the same quality food at a...
Read moreWe weren't even looking for this place. Just happened upon it by accident looking for one the mall stores. I thought the name was pretty cool, couldn't quite make out the pizza cutter so I didn't know kind of food was even there, though once we came back by, I had my facepalm moment of chagrin as realization set in...'Sliced' an Italian/pizza restaurant...of course. The wait staff was exceptionally courteous and quick despite being slightly undermanned and still learning about their menu. My wife got the pork belly trio and the butterflied shrimp, I split a half all meat and half pepperoni/bacon large pizza with my boy. While we were waiting, I read through the menu and bar menu. The food, the descriptions, the recipes, the choices, the variety... I can only say that they were probably the most thoughtfully contrived menus I've ever seen. By example, the liquor and beer selection they picked for the bar was eclectic without being over the top. In my opinion, they managed to pick just enough variety to hit every taste and be interesting to everyone. The wife got her food first and she was over the moon about all of it. She is a pork belly person and hypercritical about anything she come across but there were no complaints to be had and she was highly complimentary about that and the shrimp. On to the pizza. I let the boy get a slice of his half first. All I could get out of him was silence, chewing and a thumbs up. I got into my half and the only thing I could think about was how much it reminded me of a beloved pizza franchise called Pietro's that doesn't exist in Washington anymore and hasn't for 25 years or so, though there are still a few in Oregon. Still my favorite pizza ever. The 'Sliced' recipe is very very close in taste so it really brought me back. I had an excellent time there, some good drinks and wonderful food. We were only up there for the weekend so now I'm going back home and hoping they do very well because I want them to build another store in Snohomish county as quickly...
Read moreWatch your bill! This was a very disappointing experience that started very well. Sliced has been advertising their $7 happy hour, we thought we try it out. Service was only 2 young people for entire bar and restaurant- the young woman let us know she was brand new and wasn’t sure what draft beer was - but she was quick and attentive and we thought was doing a great job under extreme pressure. Food was excellent, came quick, great value for $7. They were out of many beers, but had some replacements. Issue came when presented the bill. Happy hour pricing was only applied to drinks. As our server was new, I thought it was simple mistake- I gave her back the bill and she told me some odd story that some prices were already discounted on main menu - we responded with - you handed us a happy hour menu that we ordered from which said all items $7 (few had $3 upcharge). She left again and the other server (guessing supervisor) came to table, very friendly, but gave another odd/crazy story, talking about the too low cost of their highly advertised and promoted in store happy hour and that costs would have to go up……so their belief is that they can draw people in with super low priced food and drink that don’t exist? Have they never heard of illegal practice of bait & switch? Why were they even trying to argue this? I am guessing it is due to very poor management- I’ve read other bad reviews about management at Sliced. The BBB and customer advocacy agencies will be getting a call to watch their business practices - really, really too bad - was going to be my new...
