Last spring, I was going for one of the most stressful selections - an engagement ring. In an attempt to avoid big corporations selling cookie-cutter boring rings, I wanted to work with somebody who will truly care and be a partner in this search, rather than an adversary who is just trying to upsell you on things you don't need.

That day, I truly won the lottery by sending an email to Karenna. I have never seen somebody take so much care and ownership for the project -- the second Karenna got some details about what I was looking for, I was getting suggestions and options as she continuously kept looking for just the right design and just the right stone.

It took us a few weeks to work out the details, and I was given all the tradeoffs and considerations when asked to make a decision on specific details - she was making suggestions on things not because "that's how it's done" or just pushing me to the higher price options, but, instead, explaining what I'd get by picking this over that and vice versa.

In the end, Karenna built us an incredible unique ring that I was unbelievably excited to give to my now-fiancée this summer.

I had done research for a couple weeks - I reached out to multiple online jewelers and had an idea in mind. With all my interactions, it was not intimate and details seemed lost in translation. After waiting for replies, I decided to go local.

After a short conversation with Kareena and talking strategy of what I should narrow down first (the cut of stone) we can work together to get a design. She even recommended good places for gems (I love Montana Sapphires).

Once I picked out a gem, I worked for two weeks with back and forth emails and multiple face to face interactions to discuss designs. Kareena heard my thoughts would be encouraging taking my ideas and dream to heart. And in other situations gave her best advice in steering me away from bad designs (I thought much fewer accent diamonds would be better).
