I was really surprised at the poor customer service I got, given the mostly good reviews here.

I ordered online and about a week later got an email to say that my order wouldn't be sent and that my money would be refunded.

I emailed to say that I'd like an explanation or apology but they did not reply.

My money was refunded but I lost money on the deal as I lost the foreign currency conversion fee on the original transaction as I'm not in the US.

So just a heads-up that their inventory control may not be up to date so what you order online may not be in stock (I'm assuming that was the problem), so if you're outside the US you may like to give this store a miss.

Compass Rose is my first stop shop whenever I’m looking for a gift for my friends and family. Not only do I know I can find the perfect, customizable gift for them, but somehow I always manage to find a gift for myself as well. Whenever I go in, the store has featured fresh, new inventory so I know I will be sporting unique, one-of-a-kind items. The owners are welcoming and have really created a fun space to shop in the heart of downtown Bemidji. They make it easy as a mom to shop with their kid-friendly design. A unique and awesomely Minnesota-style shop. There are unique items made by the owners, such as signs and MN themes clothing. They also sell essential oils (I think that's the brand) for those who are into that kind of thing. There is a sitting area with coffee for people who come in groups to shop or sometimes for when the owners talk to their clients. There is also a play area for kids for when the adults are shopping.
