Moffitt has a special place in my heart. I have spent countless sleepless nights studying in the nook on the fourth floor, or in the more private 1st floor. The reason why I only gave it 4 starts it that even though I absolutely love it, there is something very odd and dysfunctional about how the fourth and fifth floor are set up: large open area in the dead middle of the floor, surrounded by benches. It is a ridiculously poor decision considering the thousands of students that need a place to study: a better arrangement would be to have tables scattered around the center with a lot more chairs, instead of letting students figure it out.
And by 'figure it out' I mean that students have to steal chairs wherever they can, and pray to get a table. there is no guarantee that you will be able to study at moffitt, considering how busy it is. After closing the computer section on the first floor, a lot more people will have to share the 30 or so computers between 3rd, 4th and 5th floor. Not great, but still my favorite...
Read moreHas the potential to be a great work environment as it's separated into quiet/ noisy floors and overlooks the Glade and Doe Library, however, it is so dirty that I have a hard time focusing on anything else. This is a work environment that allows food and beverage, which makes it convenient when I want to work with a coffee and snack, but the undergrad students obviously cannot handle the privilege.
