On 3/11/2020 while at the Bernardsville NJ, the UPS store I experienced the rude and sexiest behavior of the 'manager' and district manager. I came in to return several amazon products, 7 in total. Alex helped me and started scanning the products return codes, and after he scanned the 3rd product Alex stated he could not send it. Alex stated that I needed a separate box for the return and that I could purchase one at the store for a few dollars. I stated to Alex that I didn't understand why, and that all my previous returns have always been accepted and I have never been told I need to purchase a separate box. I requested that he leave the product to the side and continue on with the rest. Alex stated that another 3 items in my return would need boxes, totaling to 4 items which would need 4 separate boxes. I requested him to just delete the products but he stated that since he scanned it he could not delete it. I told him I would take my products back, but he stated I could not take them since he has now scanned them. I am not sure why I would not be allowed to retrieve my own products since he would not ship them for me. I said okay and told him I would return with boxes. On my way home, I felt stuck, because now I am forced to produce my own boxes or purchase boxes from the store despite Amazon stating that I did not need a box. I contacted Amazon support and spoke to an employee named Alex as well. She explained that I did not need to provide boxes. They have a contract with UPS and no boxes are required. I traveled back to the UPS store were I requested the Amazon employee to explain to the UPS employee that Amazon returns do not need a box through UPS. Alex (UPS) listened but continued on the argue with the Amazon employee stating he would not do that. She requested him to contact his boss or manager. Alex proceeded text his manager and took a photo of the products and labels which he forward to his boss. His boss then called him on the phone and Alex referred to me as "I have "This one" standing in the store". I didn't appreciate this statement, and found it rude. Alex(UPS) shortly later gave me the phone to speak with the district manager. The district manager offered no greater solution besides telling me to cancel the return and try again. One of the products I was returning was a set of silicon rings inside a small zip-lock type package, the original packaging that they had arrived in. Alex's main complaint to the Amazon representative was that it was too small to place a package label on. Yet two of my other returned products had also been silicon rings that he was able to secure the label to. I am unsure why Alex refused to ship my packages, telling me I needed boxes when Amazon told me I did not and why he was not willing to work through the process. I am also upset as well at his district manager for failing to fix the issue. I am disappointed with both their effort in correcting the situation. Instead they made it a bigger issue than it needed to be. I am also concerned that Alex has photos of my products on his personal cell phone which I hope get deleted and my privacy respected. Overall I feel like they were trying to scam me into buying boxes despite the fact that amazon instructed them they are not required. Perhaps they were taking advantage of me because I am a woman. My husband has previously returned several Amazon returns without boxes at this location...
Read moreIf could have given negative stars, I would have. The people who run this store are the rudest people I have ever met.
After I called (about 4 times until someone picked up the phone before it went to their voicemail) about an online printing order I had placed (hours earlier), I was told to just email them the documents instead.
I then asked if they would have them done in time before they closed as it was due the next day and was given a non-answer, "maybe if the person comes in he might be able to finish it." After hearing that I asked them to cancel the order entirely as I would be going to Staples to have it done instead.
Fast forward to the next day, my credit card had been charged and not refunded. I called the store after chatting with UPS Store customer service who told me the store had to handle the issue. I spoke to the same woman who I had dealt with the day before who, upon recognizing my voice, handed the phone to another man. He said that there was nothing he could do and that I needed to call UPS Store customer service. After trying to explain to him that they had told me to call the store he said, "Do not call us again. You are wasting our time," and then...
Read moreI LOVE this UPS store! I use them for sending faxes, shipping boxes and buying supplies. The owners - David and Christine - always welcome customers with a smile. When I want to know all my shipping options, they patiently provide quotes for the various choices. I have observed them adding some tape to secure my packages, and they gladly provide receipts for all those prepaid Amazon returns. Recently, David went above and beyond the call of duty when he tracked a package that was critical to me to be delivered next day. When he noticed a potential delivery delay, he took it upon himself to contact UPS at the destination to rectify the situation. And then he called me to let me know it had been delivered! I was blown away by this level of customer service, which is so rare these days. I go out of my way to use this location - the parking is plentiful and the service...
