My family’s go-to left me unimpressed and beyond frustrated by their lack of customer service. We planned a dinner as a surprise for a 50th birthday… The first gentleman, I spoke to had no knowledge of any package for parties and asked me to call back next week when the general manager was back in. Then spoke with Diana who provided me the prix fix menu which we did not want as $65 pp Without gratuity or beverages + 3% fee. We opted for a la carte. Diana was aware that the number of people may fluctuate and she kindly told me just to give a heads up. Then I get an email from Rebecca saying that if the party is over 10 people, it is mandatory to order the prix fix menu. Such a waste of time as had I had known that was their policy, I would never have reserved a table. This is no private room setting, no exclusivity with service, no alcohol, no dessert… so without any accoutrements, $125 per adult and per child. When I called to tell Rebecca, this was ridiculous and never mentioned to me, she told me that is the standard for all restaurants in New York City and New Jersey. Boy, is she wrong. And she should note that she’s in New Jersey not New York City. this place is definitely not Jean Gorge 😂 Will never ever even entertain the idea of dining there again. There is plenty of good food in New Jersey without getting ripped off. Such a shame that Rebecca ruined the entire event; reputation is everything and how you treat the people is Paramount, especially within planning any event and...
Read moreTake a seat because this is heaven, a jaw-dropping need for experience. I live in Marlboro- miles away from Bernardsville and cannot stress how amazing and tasteful and loving these meals were. When first serving, it was DEAD. I almost canceled the reservation because the reviews and comments had to be made up. It was an hour and a half AFTER opening hours and NO ONE. But lord, it was worth being the first of many….The food was to die for. The richness and care the cooks take into their meals show when eating. The drinks here aren’t the greatest, and they only have a handful of wine by glass options for white and red… cocktails could be better-but the focus is food! Our waiter knew the menu to a T. Reading the physical menu was difficult to envision and determine if we’d like the meal, but lord, they hired the right staff to describe their meals to the customers accurately. The pasta flour is imported from Italy- 00 flour(i asked). The sauces are better than those we grew up having at Sunday dinners. (Oops) and my lord the potatoes- simply mouthwatering and needful in my life. As you can tell, the portions aren’t large, but they are rich, and filling-we took boxes home and enjoyed the meals the following day for lunch and were just as happy. For two drinks, two pastas-and one side of potatoes=$130 with tip. I honestly can recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a rich, filling meal of...
Read moreWOW what an awesome find!! This restaurant is beautifully warm and cozy and makes you want to spend all night here. Especially with the piano player there- he was wonderful and added so much charm to the space. The staff is so kind and helpful from the moment you enter until you leave and the food is unbelievable! For our starters we split the melanzana and calamari; the calamari was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. It was absolutely perfect! The melanzana was truly out of this world. We had no idea what to expect flavor wise, especially since it was described as smoked eggplant, but it was one of the best items we had this evening. For my main course I had the cappelletti which was also very delicious, although I thought the amount of truffle was a little overwhelming, I still ate every bit of the dish. We meant to ask if the pasta was all made in house, because it was some of the best pasta I’ve ever had hands down. Finally, for dessert we split the budino and bomboloni. The bomboloni was warm and decadent, and the presentation of it was super cute. As for the budino, I can’t say this enough, but DO NOT SPLIT IT. Having to share this dessert was the hardest part of this meal because it was the most delicious dessert I’ve ever had, truly. I would honestly come back here JUST to get that. If I could give 10 stars for this place I would. I had the best time here and can’t wait...
